Mid week update

When blog readers start checking in to see if you're okay, you better write more blog posts! Thank you for your love and concern... especially Dotti who keeps an eye on me from Connecticut :)
My job is very stressful and I don't have much energy left at the end of the day to quilt. I do sew something every single day, but don't seem to have much accomplished to blog about.

4th pandemic puzzle

I just completed my fourth 1,000 piece Pandemic puzzle so that's an accomplishment to share I guess!

Also there are no quilting meetings or adventures to enjoy and report on, so there's not a lot of inspiration going on. It's quite a challenge for me to stay at home since my energy gets renewed by all the wonderful people with whom I usually have contact. There are many online things happening but since I sit at a computer all day now, I don't feel like being on the computer at night.

I did bring out one of my featherweight machines this week as a little treat for myself.

sewing HSTs on "Charity"

This is "Charity" and she was an "accidental acquisition" 4 years ago. She sews like a dream even though she is 68 years old. She does need a new belt and wiring, but that won't happen for a while. I sewed about 150 HSTs this week on Charity and enjoyed every minute of it.

9 more blocks ready to sew
Here's the next batch of blocks cut out and ready to sew. Such a great scrap user project! See all those little 1.5" HST blocks that I'm using up instead of making flying geese for Part #3 of the Unity mystery? It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I'm falling behind since part #4 of was already posted on Monday.
Oh well, it's not a race, and it's looking like I'll have plenty of time to finish this during the COVID19 social isolation restrictions.

I really like how you've kitted up your blocks, Kathy. I never seem to do that with mine. Must be a HUGE time saver!

I'm so impressed to see all cut up and ready to sew. I've sometimes thought about being that organized, but....

I'm still struggling with square-in-a-square for round 2. For some reason I keep cutting the wrong size! But, I too will get it done! Charity looks lovely.

as an introvert, I really like your meme. staying home does make me a little more tired.

I was wondering where you were as well. Glad to hear from you. Doesn't seem to matter what you write about...we are always interested. I am one to talk...I don't blog very often either. Did do a post yesterday as I finished a quilt. Now today with a headache hangover(had a headache all day yesterday)I am trying to get motivated. Do I sew or cut out snowflakes on steam a seam!?!

today seems to be an 'off' day for me--I have been doing pretty good, before today--had goals set each day--but for some reason today is just--a floundering kind of day!! Yesterday I did one block of the hand piecing blocks for this week-(I am making two of each one--one in Christmas prints and the other one is light aqua's and pale roses) I did Christmas one first--and fell in love with it--(oh the Christmas one will be a donation one when finished) so--this morning I did play with some fabric and now have enough of the center blocks fussy cut out to make about 9 blocks for another quilt--all using the same block--and then I still had to cut out new pieces for another Cathy block for the Christmas quilt--so I did manage to fill in my morning--but did keep asking myself--'Di what are you doing????' I also have not done any of my color of the month sewing this month--still waiting on some blue fabric to come in--better get here real soon--month is almost over--can you believe that --only a week left of April--
hope work slows down for you so you can sew --love that puzzle!
stay safe-luv, di

There are lots of fellow bloggers rooting for you and each other and I'm grateful to be part of this community! It must be hard for extroverts but your slogan sums it up well! Take care.

Glad you are doing ok. I'm just drained at the end of the day too... and picking up fabric to play with is not appealing most nights. I did get some sewing in yesterday on my day off....it felt good. Quilty hugs to you. Love your little prepped blocks.

This is such a different experience for introverts than for extroverts. Hang in there! It can't last forever.

It is a bit different the way the days work. I don't blame you for not wanting to be on the computer at night, I feel the same way. Using up scraps for the Unity quilt sounds really smart. And it's not a race, I'm enjoying the mystery at my own pace since like you I'm still working full time. Have you tried Zooming any of your quilting buddies? It's not the same as being there, but you do at least get to see and share a bit besides just talk.

I'm using my Featherweight to make masks. I'm getting out most days, since I still get to work (on occasion only) and am in charge of picking up masks that my little guild is making.
