Mystery Blocks

I have kept up with the Quiltville mystery by sewing half the units each week since the end of November. And on Friday we got a doozy of a surprise with the pattern reveal! I could hardly wait for my work day to be over so I could get to my sewing machine.

And in my excitement I sewed the first two blocks wrong!! Yes I did!

Wrong! Both of my first failed attempts!

Okay, once I settled down, unsewed the errors and tried again, the blocks turned out correctly.

I also finished sewing all the centre stars which was very enjoyable. I can't wait for more time to keep building more blocks.

Are you going to stay with the smaller quilt or are you going to sew more blocks and make it larger? The colors of the star blocks are very pretty! Happy stitching!

are you going to make all the blocks and the bigger quilt. I thought your second photo was right until I noticed the 3rd one :)

It's such a pain when we stitch wrong. We've all done it. Glad you got those blocks fixed quickly.

Your blocks are looking great! I've been working on other projects and haven't touched mine in over a week--time to get back to the mystery.

I like your Grassy Creek colorway. I haven't begun sewing the units into blocks yet, but I think the design/layout is great.

Your colors are wonderful. I've pretty much finished doing the wonderful mystery quilts Bonnie does. I have so many "known" quilts that I want to do. I really don't need anymore starts that aren't getting finished!

OMG you WERE excited, lol! Thanks for the chuckle--glad I'm not alone in my glaring mistakes in the sewing room! Those blocks would have gone in timeout for a while if I had done that...you fixed them much faster than I would!
I have never actually made one of Bonnie's mystery quilts but always admire the amount of work she puts into them. Enjoy!

That would be my luck on sewing the blocks wrong! How fun that you are doing the mystery though. It is fun watching all your fun projects!

Lovely stars, all of them and I thought the second one of your "mistake" blocks looks great and why not use it? ;).

Sorry about the mishaps. It has happened to all of us. But on the upside, I love where this is going. Love your fabrics. So eye-popping :-)
