This Tetris quilt top was made in 2012 in a quiltalong over at the Happy Quilting blog. It was on my UFO list for a few years. I decided I wanted to finish it this month, and just now realized that it's not even on my 2017 UFO list! HA! That's so funny since it was on the UFO list every year from 2013 to 2016 and then it fell off the list I guess?
Oh well, I'm psyched for it now, so my August goal will be to add the fabric at the top as an outside border, and then to machine quilt and finish up this quilt.
The word "tetris" is used as a verb at my house, especially when trying to pack things into the refrigerator or freezer after grocery shopping, or when we are packing to go camping. We say "can you tetris that pile of stuff into the car"? This will be a fun family quilt to have around and it will be finally finished in a few short weeks...hopefully!

Don't kick yourself! Doing a Project not on the list is a Good thing. I have only finished one of my 12 UFO's this year that I chose to list. Tetris looks like a doable sized project to finish in a Busy Agust.
A finish is a finish even if it's not on your target list for the year. On average, I only finish 4 quilts a year, so I think you are doing great on finishing off those UFOs.
Any finish is good news even if it it's not on your list. And using that "tetris" as a verb. How creative?
Good luck on getting this finished in August. I used to love playing tetris - it was addicting! I know you can do it! I really need to get a finish this month too - I was doing good at one a month until June... sigh. Oh well, fabric is very patient and will wait for us.
I will hold you to this finish...if not before the end of August, you have to bring it with you to my house!!
We are only half way thru the year, so, raise that up to 50%. Much better, isn't it ;)
I like your family's use of the word Tetris. This quilt will have great meaning for them. Really think you have chosen a good border fabric. You are on the downhill slope for another finish!!
uhh I remember the tetris QAL, I almost joined it, yours is great
Haha! Love the use of the word Tetris as a verb! This will be a fabulous finish!
Fun quilt top. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck on your project.
Love how your family use tetris and the quilt will certainly fit into the family folklore. All the best and looking forward to seeing it all finished.
I've been having a hard time finishing things myself this year. I love how bright your quilt is.
You're motivated! Won't it feel great to get this one finished?! The bright colors are great.
