Happy Halloween Design Wall

It's time for trick or treating and I haven't finished my new Halloween wallhanging yet. This is how far I am - the base is ready with a rail fence border made from fun Halloween fabrics.
The problem is that the hat pattern doesn't fit inside the orange space. I double checked the measurements, and I followed the instructions, but it doesn't fit. Which is hilarious because the words say "if the hat fits" and it doesn't fit! I plan to consult with some of my quilting gurus on Wednesday and they will help me resize the hat. I guess this project will be done in time for next Halloween.

This photo shows the reason why I wanted to make this kit quilt.
I have a very similar hat, so a little quilt that says "If the hat fits..." is just too perfect for me!

Happy Halloween everyone!

What a great wall-hanging and I love the fabrics but such a shame the hat doesn't fit. Maybe you need to get the cauldron out and mix up a resizing spell. Love your hat and I can see why you feel under the spell of this pattern.

That's a beautiful wall- hanging ♥

Assuming the hat will be fused down, could you just let it extend into the border? That would make the words even more ironic!

That's funny! Sorry it didn't work for this year though. I like the little scaled down hat in the rails!

Oh, how funny!! I would take a tuck in the pattern and redraw the line to make the hat a little shorter.

Cute hat. Sorry things aren't fitting together properly.

Does the pattern designer have a website -- maybe there are pattern errors/corrections listed there? Otherwise, maybe it would look fun to let the oversized hat just overhang into the border? Wendy at piecefulthoughts@gmail.com

That is pretty funny. Your quilt may need to say "if the hat DOESN'T fit". : )

Go with it...I would just let it not fit in the center and let it flow over to the borders.

It looks so pretty on the wall. Like other - I would let the hat over flow and get r done.

Yikes, that's a puzzle. Maybe there was some Errata not corrected on the pattern! Have fun with your solution, I know you will find one to FIT! (insert groan here)

How frustrating! It is a cute pattern and you've got a good start on it. Hope you had a very Happy Halloween.
