2013 Happy Jar

My daughter gave me a great idea for 2013...a HAPPY jar
You get an empty jar and pieces of paper, and you write down happy thoughts and memories throughout the year, and put the memories in the jar.

I started on New Year's Eve and have been adding to my jar every day (or when I remember). Some days I really have to search for something happy to take note of, and some days it's much easier.

It has become way too routine and familiar to list all the worries and obsess over the to-do list, but I want to change that.

I love this quote from Voltaire (art work by chARiTy elise designs) and have chosen this as my goal for 2013 - that in spite of everything and anything, I will focus on being happy because it is good for my health.

Now I want to decorate my happy jar...I'm thinking fabric and beads and paint and sparkles...

Kathy, We were just talking about doing a Happy Jar or a Blessing Jar this year too. The other thing I heard about it is on New Year's Eve (or thereabouts) you open the jar and remind yourself of all the good things that happened throughout the year. It's a treasure! I love the Voltaire quote you posted as well. Here's to a year filled with happiness and quilting -- they're the same, aren't they!!??

Great idea! I have also chosen to be happy even if it is sometimes hard to be. I love the quote - it is perfect.

That's a good idea, you know the Bible does say "A merry heart doeth good!"

What a fabulous idea! I just read this morning - "there is no way to happiness, happiness is the way."

I am doing this also, I have a jar with a small pad of paper in it and a pen. I just have to label or decorate it.
