2012 Review Post

I have greatly enjoyed blogging and quilting again this year and have spent time today reviewing the past year and thinking about the new year to come. This post is mostly for my benefit so I can have all the project links I might need in one place! But feel free to join me in reviewing this year's accomplishments.
2012 UFO Challenge:
For a couple of years I have participated in Judy's UFO challenge to finish one UFO a month. Some months were more productive than others, but this year I was able to finish 7 of my 12 UFO's that are listed in my side bar on the right of my blog:
*1 quilt (February's Hip Baby) was given away as a baby gift,
*4 quilts were given to the guild's comfort quilt project (January's Batik Cats, April's Layer Cake Quilt Along, June's Plaid Split 9 Patch, and July's D4P),
*and I am still enjoying 2 of them (March's Gold Stars, and May's Hexagon Honeycomb) at home.
*August's Sunflower quilt got it's border and then I completely "fell off the UFO wagon" when I got a second job.
SO...that leaves 5 UFO's from last year's list. Each one of those 5 have seen some progress and moved to the next stage closer to being completed, but are not quite done.
Other Finished Quilts:
*This is the list of my finished mini quilts: the Pink Lemonade Quilt Along, Pink Overload,  Kaffe Konfetti, Spring Pinwheel, Bingo,  Mini Twister, Mini 9 Patch, Bowls With Borders, Summer Stars Quilt Along, and Wicked Witch.

*I did finish a few larger quilts too: a batik scrap quilt that I bordered, quilted and bound for the guild comfort quilt project, a baby quilt for a friend's great niece, made a Tshirt quilt for my nephew, "Dotty For Kaffe", Mountain Trial, "Joy Spring" and my Dr. Seuss quilt (that was last year's New Year's Day mystery quilt).

Most Exciting Finishes:
I think my most exciting finishes were "Quilter's Blessings" which was hand embroidered, and hand quilted, and my 36 Patch Quilt Along which was also hand quilted. I was also very excited to get my Journey of a Quilter top pieced and the hand quilting started.
Block sampler quilts:
*stitched 12 blocks for the Quilt Square Quilt Along (this will go on the UFO list for next year).
*completed 42 blocks for my Civil War Sampler with Barbara Brackman.
*sewed 12 Knot blocks and participated in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
Other Quilty Accomplishments:
*created Slow Sunday Stitching weekly blog link party (so fun!).
*purchased a 1901 Singer Treadle machine, learned how to treadle, and  occasionally write a "Treadling on Tuesday" post.
*made a group quilt for a friend (Marj Hearts Kaffe).
*participated in three blog hops: Bowls with BordersDots on Dots, and Wicked.

WOW! That's a lot of stitching that went on!
Now...what's up for 2013?
I'll work on that list and let you know...Happy New Year!
