Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the Slow Sunday Stitching party! Take some time today to power down your brain and enjoy the benefits of relaxation with your favourite hand work.

I can hardly wait to get my hand stitching bag out today. I haven't touched it all week, and that is something that rarely happens in my life. And we all know that means that my sanity is hanging by a very thin thread!

Must stitch to restore sanity!

I am slowly working away on some Life Is Beautiful blocks. My blog posting about this project has renewed some interest in this pattern, and I'm sorry to say that it is very difficult to find.

The pattern is as rare as shark's teeth, although I can easily get those for you!
You can try to get the pattern here. Let me know if you have any luck.

What are you hand stitching today? Link up your blog post below and share your progress with us.

I have to admit that most of my "Slow Sunday Stitching" happens during the week when I can't be by my sewing machine. I love my sew-to-go projects. If I get stitching time on Sunday after church, it is usually by machine. Now that I work full time during the school year, BOTH hand stitching time AND machine times are treasured. Thanks again for hosting SSS. I love seeing all the creative things.

Hope you can kick back and relax and get plenty of sanity stitches in today!

Because I have to 'travel' to my sewing room, most of my free evenings are definitely spent hand sewing! But I had hardly any evening free this past week, so I have been happy to get to it this weekend, too! Enjoy your day!! :)

I hope someone has this pattern available for resale in the US when I can manage to do life is beautiful... I have a BOM in my closet and it has to get done before I can justify spending money for another BOM that is embroidery and patchwork.. my favorite mixture btw! Keep up the great slow stitching work on these blocks... sooner that you imagine it will be on the finished list since it is qayg :) Thanks for the linky party so we can check out each others stuff too <3

I'm working on a QOV binding today. Your quilt is going to be lovely in those colors.

handwork is such a stress reducer and sanity saver I don't know what I would do if I couldn't work by hand. Years ago when I was diagnosed with autoimmune diseases - and at that time my health was very bad - I think hand work had a part in saving me - I was so stressed and in pain but I could just loose myself in hand work and it calmed me - now I can't do without it even though my health is so much better now.

I'm glad you're getting some slow stitching done today. I was up early and stitching while I had my cup of coffee. Definitely sets the day up right. I tried to purchase the pattern but can't get past entering the code. It is a beautiful pattern.

I am not hand stitching this weekend but knitting. I have a baby blanket to finish for my grandson who will be here in May. Then I need to start knitting a shawl for a friend's 60th birthday at the end of March

Hopefully, you get enough slow stitching in today to save your sanity!

I definitely agree with stitching to restore sanity. Didn't get anything done yet. I have been providing some dinners for my grandsons while their parents are back east at their sister's swimming championships. Today I fixed one grandson's comforter with some patches where it was ripped. Hopefully might get some stitching time in tonight.

Your stitchwork is beautiful! I made an attempt to purchase the pattern for "Life is Beautiful" but it's very expensive. I think I'm going to create my own design naming it "My Favorite Things". Looking forward to watching your progress 💙

I was away for the weekend and missed slow stitching Sunday. But I didn't miss out on the stitching. I got two quilts bound on the weekend and started hand quilting a whole cloth quilt. May hand stitches were made this weekend.
