For some unknown reason, I skipped over block #23 when sewing my Votes For Women blocks. I remedied that this week and stitched up the block called "Girl's Joy: An Ounce of Persuasion". It went together well and came out to be the correct size.
So then I sewed up the next one, which for me was block #26 "Ladies' Wreath Mourning for Mother". Barbara wrote such an interesting post on the history of contraception. It is so hard to believe that it was illegal for unmarried women in the USA to use contraception until 1972!

Next block for me to sew is #27 and I'm working on a plan for how to sew it without the dreaded set-in seams!

such pretty block! I did 27 by hand but in some of the flicker photo's it looks like some people modified the piecing instructions to eliminate them. Love the little quilt - so true!
Number 23 is a design I like a lot. The X in the middle is what catches my eye with it.
Oh YA, I had the Crazies Yesterday! I knew I had to stitch something. Love your Sufferage Blocks. Sew those y seams point to point, mark the 1/4" with a dot to make sure you go right to it.

Love your blocks! Whenever a difficult one is the BOW, I switch it for another or adapt the pattern...guess I am lazy!
Great blocks! I really wanted to participate in the sew-along but it just didn't happen - so sad.
Your blocks are so pretty! Isn't it wonderful to have so many ideas just a keystroke away. I'm glad you were able to keep your embroidery project from the UFO closet. Love your alphabet quilt, too.
