I am so excited to share my RSC version of Bitcoin! This is a Bonnie Hunter pattern released last summer.
I started sewing the scraps together in June last year and each month I sewed more ladders together. That was so fun and I'm sure I will make another random scrappy version of this pattern.
Then came the day when all the colours I wanted in the quilt were sewn, and it was time to put the ladders together in their colour sections. That was the hard part. But I stuck with it and now it's done!
There are 1,380 scraps in this quilt top, cut and sewn a few at a time in the colour of the month. And now they have become a quilt top! This is my favourite way to make a quilt and I'm thankful to Angela for the weekly RSC linkup that has encouraged me to make scrappy quilts that I love one month/colour at a time!
Do you have any quilting suggestions for me?!

your bitcoin is awesome! how great that you made it a little bit at a time and ended up with a great top!
Love your bitcoin. I would do something very horizontal for quilting. It would make a nice contract to the strong vertical feel. Maybe serpentine or organic wavy lines side to side.
Oh, that is wonderful, Kathy! I love the way you laid out your columns with the darker colors on the outside. Have fun deciding on the quilting - that's always challenging for me, too.
I love all your rainbow scrap creations, Kathy, but this is definitely one of my top favorites! A delightful feast of color for the eyes!
Love love love how this one all came together. I like the suggestion of horizontal serpentine stitches. If you did vertical rows though, you could match the threads to the rows. I know how much you like to play with thread colors. Whatever you decide, it is going to be a great quilt with so many beautiful scraps.
Love it!
Your fav way to make a quilt is my fav way too!
I love how you did your Bitcoin quilt in a rainbow. Gorgeous!!
I have to admit I didn't fall in love with the BH Bitcoin pattern. I think that although I love scrappy, it was TOO scrappy for me. But yours is awesome! It's scrappy but has some pattern to it by doing it spectrum & laying it out with the dark on the outside & moving to light on the inside. I totally love your quilt!
It is lovely, Kathy a perfect rainbow quilt.
I love it!! The colors just flow into each other. Hugs,
What a fantastic finish! You’ve arranged the columns of colours beautifully.
love it - that is a lot of scraps
Nice way you put the colors together. Something big and swirly for quilting.
Fantastic! I adore this.
