The next step was posted for the "Oh say can you sew" mystery quilt. We are making bazillions of quarter square triangle blocks, which some folks call hourglass blocks.
I'm so pleased with my decision to make this project from stash scraps (and a charm pack!) because the variety of fabrics helps me to maintain my interest in making repetitive blocks. The challenge of this step was all the trimming of the blocks to the correct size. I do love my BlocLoc ruler for this type of job! These rulers are a bit pricey but worth every single cent!
These blocks were my leader-ender project for the first two weeks of May.
I tossed one under the needle at the end of each seam I sewed for other projects. It was easy, mindless (and seemingly endless at times) sewing. But here are my blocks ready for the next step in June.

Oh so many hour glass blocks. I’m still trimming mine from BH mystery
I use my Tucker Trimmer for trimming hourglass blocks. I love the X lines that cross on it. Gotta get out my rotating mat to do it. Finishing my Rhododendron Trail quilt and catching up on Riley Blake Block Challenge and Quiltmaker 40th Jubilee Mystery.
I want to know how I never knew of that purple collection??
You are demonstrating a great deal of patience and persistence in making bazillions of QSTs!!
I used my smallest bloc-loc ruler so much I wore the markings completely off. I took it with me to a quilt vendor mall at a quilt show about six years ago, knowing they always had a booth there. They had me sign the ruler with a Sharpie and said it would go on their "Wall of Shame", and then they gave me a new one. I like doing business with a company like that!
Oh, Kathy . I just love the fabrics that you have chosen for the SAL. I have been working on my blocks as a leader/ ender project too. I counted last night - I have 30 more to go. Wheww! I hope to have them completed by the end of the month. Thank you so much for the tip about the ruler. I will need to invest in one of those. Happy piecing.
