Two new Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects were started this week!
1) I tried hard to resist the Sewcialites quilt along. It was just too many projects for me to juggle. I have enjoyed following Coriander Quilts and seeing all the lovely sampler blocks she made in 3" miniature size.
Oh my goodness, how cute is this? There are 16 pieces to cut to make this pattern and it is so fun to sew. You can watch a video here if you are a beginning quilter and want to make one.
You really can't tell the scale of the block so here is a photo of me holding it so you can see how little and sweet it is!
And that, my friends, is how a new RSC project is born! After I made the block in blue and it was so super cute, then I made it in purple.

2) I bought the Quiltville pattern for the Bitcoin quilt. How could I resist? It was scrappy and marvellous and I love it!

I just know some of you are going to ask me how many RSC projects I have on the go, and the answer is... "enough to make me very happy"! 😁
Linking up to the weekly RSC party
Those little sewing machines are soooo cute! I can see why you jumped in to make some when you saw the pattern. The bitcoin quilt is perfect for the RSC too. Looks like you are having fun in your sewing room and that’s all that matters.
OMG, Kathy!! How am I going to resist these sweet and scrappy blocks? Alas, I must. Enjoy these fun new projects!
Is there anything cuter than that tiny sewing machine block? I can't wait to see a whole rainbow of them!
That tiny sewing machine is just so darn cute! I can see why you had to make it. Lots of projects keeps boredom at bay! As long as there is a finish from time to time, it will all work out in the end.
Did you get Rivanna too? I’m eyeing that one
The mine sewing machines are really cute and fun. The thing with RSC quilts is that they use up those extra bits and pieces, which if you are like me, you never run out of.
I think projects are like chocolate, you can never have too many! That being said, I was forced to clean out my sewing stash room in the basement, and if projects to finish were chocolate....I would be living in Willy Wonka land!! hahaha
And as long as you are happy, that is what matters. Were you thinking of me when you said you knew some would ask how many?? :) The thought does cross my mind, and I know sometimes it comes out.
They are very cute machine blocks. Of course you did the 3"--I would have, too, were I making them.
Bitcoin is a very eye catching quilt and I love your start in purples. Would love the whole thing in purples, but it will gorgeous in rainbow colors, too.
Your joy comes through on your blog. I read it everyday. Have fun with this new project.
That's a great answer, "enough to make me happy". I'll remember that when I feel a bit overwhelmed with RSC projects! Sadly, I can only spend very short bursts at the sewing machine lately after my spinal surgery as sitting there seems to pull on my back. So I've been knitting and a little hand stitchery.
Oh, those sewing machines are cute as can be! I can see why that would call to you, and the Bitcoin pattern, too. We all have lots of those strips! I agree, you should have as many projects going on as make you happy!
Be happy! Those sewing machines are lovely.
Your sewing machines are darling!
You could mix and match the 3 sizes of the sewing machine blocks and make a cute wall quilt or table runner.
