Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the last Slow Sunday Stitching link up for 2019!  It has been another wonderful year of being inspired by your beautiful hand stitched projects each Sunday.

I like this quote: "Encouragement provides us with motivation to persevere." (Joshua Becker)

This is so true! I thank you for every encouraging comment you took the time to write to another stitcher over the course of the past year. You have no idea how much this means to us! It really helps in being able to stick with these long term, hand made projects.

Hand stitching niece
While visiting with family over the holidays, I was delighted to see my niece stitching a gift for a friend. She was hand stitching the words "Happy Adventuring" on the band of a head lamp. What a creative idea! She was very proud of her special gift, and I was very proud to see her with a thimble on her finger, and needle and thread in hand! The next generation of hand stitchers has begun!

What are your hands stitching as this decade comes to a close? For the last time in 2019, we invite you to link up your blog or instagram post below and show us the hand work project you are putting stitches into today. We will visit and send you some encouragement to continue your stitching into 2020 and beyond!

I love to see the next generation of stitchers take pride in their work. That is definitely a special gift that your niece is making.

It is true about the encouraging words. I doubt if I would have continued to work on hand stitched projects as much if I did not find this group. I used to just look at quilt magazines and start new projects when I was on the go. I would take all my cutting things with me and make quilt kits for when I had time to be with my sewing machine at home. I love that now I have projects and FINISHES produced during waiting times (the doctor's office, bowling, speech therapy, school...)

At first I was not confident with my stitches or skills. It is a learned skill. I learn so much from reading others posts. I am even thrilled to try something new when it comes to slow stitching.

Thank you so much for hosting Slow Sunday Stitching! Have a happy and healthy 2020, Kathy!

I so enjoy visiting the blogs that link up each week. Thank you so much for hosting Slow Sunday Stitching each year. I lost my crafting mojo recently and now I am inspired to get it back in 2020. How wonderful that your niece is already stitching gifts.

Thank you for the opportunity to join in slow stitching Sunday, it makes me stop what I'm doing and get my sewing out. It's a lovely picture of your niece.

What a sweet thing your niece is making! And I've never figured out how to use a thimble, so she's way ahead of me, already!

Thank you Kathy for hosting Slow Sunday Stitching every week. Even though I haven't participated this year, I always enjoy my visit to your blog. It is my intention to do more hand work next year so you might see me joining you with my project.
I wish you well and all the best for the new year so you can continue to inspire us with your lovely quilts and your linky parties. We need to keep this craft alive lest it disappear forever. (Thank goodness for the next generation.) ;^)

I'm adding my thanks to all the others, Kathy, for your interesting blog and especially for hosting the Sunday Slow Stitching link up. I love to see what everyone else is up to, and to add my own contribution from time to time. I'm sure, just like me, all your readers appreciate the time and effort you put into this.

Thank you for writing you blog posts and having the Slow Sunday Link ups. I always read but don't always comment. Your blog is always a bright spot in my day to hear what is going on in your life and what fun projects you are working on. Those links to all the sew alongs, while dangerous are inspiring. Thanks for all you do to inspire and encourage us throughout the year.
