Well let's not talk about the fact that I didn't even look at November's UFO project so therefore did not make any progress on it! I didn't even cut the batting, which is a fairly easy job to do. I just got busy with so many other things (squirrel!) and spent too much time hibernating because it's dark and cold.
So this month I'm choosing a project that might have a chance of getting some attention... my Kim Diehl Christmas Tree project. I bought the fabrics and book in 2017 as a Christmas gift to myself. It was such a fun project to sew... I loved the fabrics, the instructions were terrific, the blocks were complicated enough to challenge me but not too overwhelming, and the overall design is unique. I would really like to finish it as a gift to myself by Christmas of 2019!But I can't decide... does it want to be a tabletopper or a tree skirt?

That's a tricky one! If it's a tree skirt you will only get glimpses of it but on the table it will be seen in all its glory. Not sure what I would do but I hope you get it finished because it's a real beauty!
Table topper!
It would be so hard for me to cut into that lovely center star to make the skirt. Do you have a nice big table? If so, topper would be the way to go! :)

I agree about making it a table topper so that it can be clearly seen. Beautiful project, I hope you get the opportunity to complete it.
Table topper. It would be a crime to cut into the center. You can make another one and put a plain center in it (ha ha). I borrowed the book from a friend after seeing yours and planned to just make one tree as a small wall hanging. Was going to work on it at retreat, but quickly decided it required more concentration than I would give it at retreat. Haven't gotten back to it yet. Sigh.

I’d use it as a table topper or over the back of a chair. It’s really pretty.
Good luck with your goal--it's going to be beautiful! I would find it really hard to cut a slit in it, so I'm voting for table topper too--lol!

Hmmm. I think I heard it say table topper.....but you'd have to ask it and get that ear down there to listen to the answer! Good luck. Cute little quilt.... I keep looking at my kit I have of hers for Bittersweet Briar. I think 2020 is the year to work on it... finally. I've had the kit since 2010 at least!
