Scrappy Saturday

Over at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge the blue month is finished. These are the 4 Carrie Nation blocks that I made from blue scraps this month. I was thinking how much I like this fancy block, and when I put them on the design wall, I realized it is just a triple four patch... not fancy at all! DUH!?!
Funny how it seemed a lot harder to sew when it wasn't just a bunch of 4 patch blocks!
I am making sure to use a variety of backgrounds/neutrals (a la Bonnie Hunter) in each block.

I also stitched up a few more Alamo Star blocks as my leader/ender project.
And I cut a lot of scraps to continue making more blocks into June, so blue month will continue for a wee while longer for me!

This is my storage box with finished stars, clipped pieces for more sewing, and strips for future use.

Hop over to SoScrappy to see more scrap challenge postings.

all your blocks are great, love the star blocks and the one with orange, I know you have a ton more that are done in other colors, so it won't stand out like that.... how big are you going to make it? they are 3" or 4" done?

The simplest blocks are often the most loved. Your Carrie Nation blocks look great - and what a good scrap-buster! And as always, I'm drooling over your yummy batik Alamo Stars - I really look forward to seeing this one all together!

What a beautiful send off for the blue month. Those Alamo stars are still so cute. You must have quite a collection by now.

You are way to organized and productive. That is my goal for the next couple of months. Get the outside jobs done and make and finish two quilts by the end of August! yikes!!!

They might not be "fancy" but they are oh so pretty! Love seeing your storage box... I use my Wonderclips just like you for so many tasks besides binding (love them!!).

There is something about a blue and white quilt that stands out from all the rest. Yours is so nice and scrappy, would make Bonnie Hunter happy.

I think a triple 4-patch always looks complex when all is said and done. My goodness, how many different projects do you have going for the rainbow scrap challenge?

The Triple 4 patch looks great, love the scrappy look. Alamo Star it going to be a gorgeously color rich quilt. Looking forward to seeing it all laid out on your design wall.
