Stuck on Brown

The November colour of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge was brown.  My quilty friends sent in some reinforcements so I would have enough scraps to sew a Knot block, and now those scraps seem to have multiplied, and I have enough for two blocks! I have been playing with the light to dark gradation and hope to have time today to work on sewing the blocks together.
The Knot block pattern is from Quiltmaker's 100 blocks magazine volume #3. Did you know that volume #6 has just been released?!? So exciting and I can't wait to get my hands on this newest issue. Have you been following the blog hop this week? You can click here to visit the blogs, see some of the blocks, and enter the draws for a copy of the magazine.
Since I had so much fun this past year with sewing the Knot block each month, I plan to pick a block pattern from the new issue for my 2013 rainbow challenge project.  Maybe the kaleidoscope block or chain mail?
Hop over to SoScrappy to see what other scrappy quilters are up to this week.

Can't wait to see what it looks like :) Brown isn't a colour I use often, but I find it fun to challenge myself and try out different colours that I don't normally use.

All your little brown squares look like chocolates! I think I'd be hungry all the time if I had to work with brown very often!

I see lots of chocolaty goodness in those browns, too.
I really like the Chain Mail block, too.

Have fun! Chain mail is similar to your Knot block. I see using more different combinations of colors in this one. Thanks for linking us to her blog posting. I just mailed out copies of the magazine to the 2 winner's of My Blog Tour for Volume 6! I'll miss not getting the advance issue next time.

Great browns, are you going to be able to do the black and grey? do you need fabric? I hope to get my copy of #6 too. I have found two blocks I might use for next year.

Love your idea to choose a block from 100 Blocks for next year's challenge. The Kaleidoscope block looks like a great scrap buster!

Brown is lovely, but your banner at the top of your blog is too fabulous for words! I love the blocks, the quilt, the quilting, and the photo styling. just lovely!

Nice blocks you're thinking about for next year, I've been inspired by some of the lovely blocks I've seen others do this year.

I am so glad that your quilty friends were able to send in reinforcements - what would we do without our friends!

I really like both blocks that you are considering for next years RSC. I would have a tough time choosing between the two and would probably make both.
