Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party! Get out your needles and threads and join us... the more the merrier!

Last Sunday I was adding some hand quilting stitches to my June mini quilt, and I was able to finish it this week. Hand stitching the back of the binding down is one of my favourite things, and I enjoyed every minute. Isn't that a pretty Amy Butler backing fabric?

Now that the quilt is finished, I am back to my hand embroidery project.
This tea towel has seemed to take forever, but this is called Slow Sunday Stitching for a reason! The goal is to relax with every stitch added, not to be quick. I'm not loving the outside ring on this design and think I should have used a lighter floss colour so the centre design would stand out more. But I've done too much to take it all out now, so I'll just finish it up and move on to the next one.

What are you hand stitching today? Link up your blog post below and share your slow progress with us.

your tea towel looks perfect. I think a lighter floss for the outer circle would have looked out of place. That backing fabric is fabulous! Thanks for hosting.

The Amy Butler backing is quite pretty. Maybe you'll like Roll With It better when it is out of the hoop. It looks fine - really. Have a great week, Kathy!

I think I have those embroidery transfers. I should get busy and embroider on some towels and make hot pads to go with for Christmas gifts. I think your embroidery looks terrific and you should roll with it!

That is a great backing fabric for your pig mini! It's always fun to spend more time with the backing fabric when you're stitching the binding. Enjoy your Sunday stitching, Kathy!

I don't think the border distracts! I was thinking it would be hard to keep that border design in line, but it looks awesome!

I think I may sew binding down on a table runner today as it's going to be too hot to do anything else but read. It was fun to see several snowmen projects linked today.

Your eye is drawn to the wording and the rolling pin not the outside border. It looks great!

So many people I know dislike the last step of binding a quilt...
I love it!!!
It says (the quilt that is) that"I am finished"

Hello There!
I have stolen your idea! Yup. I'm hand embroidering tea towels as Christmas gifts. I've picked up several Stitcher's Revolution and Aunt Annie's. Thank you for sharing!
