It's the last Saturday of April, which means the last week of working with purple scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
I am pleased with my blocks this month and did make a good dent in the purple scrap bin. I sewed some Stars - both Alamo and Maverick stars, and some spool and Carrie Nation blocks. This week I finished up some cute little double 9 patch blocks for the never-ending Omigosh quilt. Each 5" block has 49 pieces, for a total of 196 scrap pieces used in these 4 blocks! WOW!
My last scrappy blocks to finish up this month are purple pumpkin seeds. I have sewn a few while watching QuiltCam, and am happy to be adding blocks to that collection. The finished blocks and an updated photo of the pumpkin seeds will be posted next Saturday.
To see more purple projects being sewn, hop over to visit SoScrappy. I wonder what colour we will be working on for the month of May?!?

You have been busy. Such pretty purple fabrics. I need to start watching Quilt Cam while I sew.
Thanks for sharing, I have been hoping to get to my scraps and sew certain colours but things haven't gone to plan, maybe the new month will be different
So many parts to OMG! Great job with the purples. I can't wait to see all those seeds together.
So many happy purple projects! What a fun photo of you and Bonnie sewing together.
I can only imagine the size of your stash with enough purple to make all those blocks! ;-) Every time I see a picture of your Omigosh quilt, I love it even more! I love the nine patch, and some day I want to make an Omigosh quilt.
Wow! You're amazing! I don't know how you can keep so many project on the go at once without any falling into the UFO's bin. How do you organize your cutting? Do you cut your purple pieces all at once for all the projects? Do you go project by project, cutting for one project at a time and then sewing it before cutting for the next one? Could you show us the how-to of your amazing organization's skills please. My sewing room is a mess and I only have two projects on the go! :( Love the purples.
love all the purple!
How many pieces will be in a finished Omigosh quilt?
Your purples are so pretty.
The OMG blocks are amazing!
I still can't believe you are doing needle-turned applique. Well, I can believe it, I just don't want to. That means I could possible get sucked in, too. : )
I will be sad to see purple scraps go back into the bin, or jar, or whatever. Pretty blocks--all of them!
The thought of working with such tiny pieces for those 5 inch blocks is mind-boggling :)
I absolutely love all of your purple blocks! I went to your link for the Omigosh quilt. That is certainly the right name for it, because that is exactly what I said when I realized how small the blocks were! Pumpkin seeds is a new name for me, I have always called them orange peel. I think I like pumpkin seeds better.
Your nine patch blocks are gorgeous!! Love those pumpkin seed blocks... if I didn't have SOME self control, I'd be making those too!
What a sense of accomplishment this month. You've been busy! Your little pumpkin seeds are so cute.
I love the nine patch such a great block! I just saw the Fons and Porter episode where she made the replica of the antique ninepatch that is done in a circular patttern. Put it on my to do list.
What cute little purple blocks.
I loved seeing all of your Purple scraps being used. I hate to count the pieces. It's is amazing how teeny you can cut them to make pretty Blocks. Good for you to get your scraps under control and make your OMG and other blocks with them.
It's nice that you have your scraps sorted by color and can work on one color per month. My scraps are somewhat sorted but I don't know that I would want to stick with one color on a project. I enjoy seeing what you create with the color of the month.
Well done with the purples & watching quilt cam.
I like to watch a few as a rest time.
OMG...love the OMG!
Great little nine patches. I have not watched Quilt Cam for a months now.
You've done a lot with your scraps this year. Looking forward to seeing how all your projects are coming together.
Nice batic scraps. The pumpkin seeds and 9-patches will be pretty.
