Design Wall Monday - Sunny Side Up

I have sewn together the blocks for Judy's Sunny Side Up, which she offered as a free pattern for a quilt-along on her blog.
These blocks were such a pleasure to sew and the rows went together perfectly. I am starting to think about making this pattern again but a less scrappy version.
Now this quilt is ready for the borders. Take a deep breath...
because this quilt pattern has 5 borders! Yikes!
To see what other quilters are working on this week, hop over to the links at Patchwork Times.

You can always count on Judy for lots of borders. Enjoy! It is a great looking quilt.

5 Borders! I like pieced borders over simple fabric borders and am eager to see what type of borders you'll be adding to this quilt, it's beautiful right now, great job!

It's a beauty-------- even without borders.

I have seen this but wasn't interested until I saw your version. My favorite so far!

Oh, I really like your version! It will be even prettier with the borders added. Great job!

I love this scrappy, Kathy! But I can see how it would be very attractive in a more controlled palette (that sounded kind of stuffy, didn't it?).
Five borders? Yikes--but then, Judy is the border queen!!

FIVE BORDERS you hate borders!! I am thinking you are going to do something with lots of pieces for at least one or two of the borders!

I like your fabrics so much better than Judy's. But then I love scrappy (Has she ever done scrappy? I don't remember any.)and 19th century reproductions so I think yours is perfect. Are you sure you want to do all 5 borders? I've never seen an antique quilt with borders like that. If you want to keep it authentic-looking I'd go simplier or none at all. There, I'm giving you a great excuse to avoid most if not all of that border work!

We don't call Judy L the Border Queen for nothing! I love her Borders pattern book. So many different ways to do them and not just add the BLOB-O-Border on a quilt. Have fun with them.

I like your version better than the one on the link you provided, but then I love scrappy. Great fabrics and colors Kathy!

Whoa!!! That would back me up! I HATE borders!!! But I love the way they make a quilt look, so I always bite the bullet and get busy putting them on :*) Love your Sunny Side Up - very warm and cuddly!

Love the scrappy look you made, it looks so different from Judy's version. I love Judy's patterns, but I usually bale on her borders!
