Welcome to Slow Sunday Stitching where we celebrate the art of creating things with our hands. Any hand stitching activity is welcome here :)
I have been slowly cross stitching Melisa's Spring project. I repaired the problematic bird in the header that I posted last week. Thank you to the eagle eye stitchers who told me how to fix my mistakes.
I also stitched the first stamp on the upper right, which is stamp #3 called Bluebird and Bees. So cute! I am using the sewing method of cross stitch and stitching in hand, which I find to be easier with my sore hand. I am willing to overlook the fact that it doesn't look as nice as stab stitching using a hoop.
And following along with the bird theme, I have been watching the nesting chickadee family in the front yard birdhouse. It provides hours of free entertainment to watch the comings and goings of Mr and Mrs while they are setting up house and hopefully planning to have a family.
Okay, enough of the bird watching, now it's time for more bird stitching. Next up is making the maroon frames so I can stitch more bird patterns (9 in total).
What are you hand stitching today? You know we love to peek in on your progress, so link up your photo, instagram or blog post below.

I often see birds when I’m out walking. This week’s highlights were a Northern flicker and an eagle. Take care of that hand!!!
I loved Melisa's Spring project and couldn't resist stitching a couple of the individual small designs. Now I think I should have just done the whole thing, lol! How fun for you to watch the birds using the birdhouse! Enjoy!
This is a very cute cross stitch! It's always nice to see the birds nesting. It really feels like spring has sprung!
We have a robin nesting in the bakers rack in the garden. Your spring stitching is coming along nicely.
I do hope your hand feels better soon!
We do whatever works in order to continue with our precious crafting. Your bird looks much better now. I really like the first stamp that you finished.
have a great day Kathy - thank you as always for your link up and reminding us to slow down for a day!!
Your spring stitching is really fun. Hopefully your hand is starting to heal more and stitching is less painful.
I like seeing your version of SPRING. Mine is brown/black DMC 898. I like it in The green you chose. Very pretty!
Your Spring border and stamp looks beautiful, Kathy. You instantly brought a smile to my day. Watching the birds is so relaxing. I hope the chickadee family does well . Thank you for stitching my Spring Stamps. Have a beautiful day.
