Scrappy Saturday

This week the Google Blogger system switched over to the new version and stopped allowing bloggers to use the old user friendly version. I waited until the weekend to tackle the learning curve so we'll see how this goes.
Last Saturday I blogged about a bag of red scraps that I received from a quilting friend. The bag has been organized and cut into useable pieces.

There were several 2.5" pieces and triangles that were cut from the end of strips. I sewed 30 of those pieces together into a 12.5" slab block.
The last slab block I made was in June when the colour was pink (you can see that one here)
This will be a very slow growing quilt if I only make 1 block every 3 months!

Those RED scraps made a really cute Slab block, Kathy! Keep at it and in another decade you might have enough blocks for a small quilt. LOL!

One block every three months is still better than one block in a bag in the closet.

I had to switch over the new blogger this morning as well. I resisted for so long!

That is a great block! Love the movement the triangles add to it.

Wow, you sure came up with an interesting block. I think there’s a potential pattern in there! Lovely!

Just embrace the new blogger...they make improvements each week and it is getting easier to use! You can do it. Love your red scrappy slab.. maybe I should make some scrappy slabs to try to use up more scraps.

Your post is up and running, so far, so good! I like your slab block - those are so fun to make, and fun in every color!

I love your block. But I have to laugh. You're just like me, make a block now and the. Some of them I even forget, and find them when I try to find other things. Welcome to new blogger. It's going to work well, I'm sure.

Oh no, I wish Blogger would stop with all the changes! I used to love 5he way it was working, even if I haven’t been using it much!
I was hoping we would be able to continue wi5h the old version if we wanted! Well, I guess I’d better have another try with it!
Love your red block, you have some lovely fabrics!

Oh, I dread my next post. My first attempt with new blogger wasn't bad, but the two since have been maddening!
Scraps from friends are so fun, but I am impressed that you got everything organized so soon. I have received bags that I know how I want to use them, but they are still tucked away somewhere with the chosen pattern or photo of the quilt.
The slab block fascinates me. Looks like it can use up every bit.

Love your cheery red block c an't say the same just yet about the new blogger, my next post will tell how I fare. When I tried it a week or so ago I still had double line spacing coming up - how did you you solve that?

I like making slab blocks! It sort of keeps the scraps under control!
I haven’t had much trouble with the new Blogger, except when using my iPad. It’s a bit finicky then. I always do my final on the laptop.
