May UFO

This is one of my older UFO's that I found during a stash diving  frenzy while searching for mask fabrics. I bought some cherry themed fabrics, a 60 degree ruler and a pattern book on a trip to Paducah in 2009.
YES 2009... that was not a typo... this fabric is 11 years old and still not sewn into blocks!

I decided to sew lots of strips sets and make wedges from them. It was all very fun until it was time to make a layout decision, and then it wasn't fun anymore. I just couldn't decide what to do since there were so many options in the book. It went into the UFO closet for a few years.

It was on my 2015 UFO list but never received any attention since being labelled a "problem child" all those years ago! It didn't even get on the UFO lists since then, and I'm pretty sure it has never been seen on my blog before.

The pandemic is a perfect time to take on this "problem child" project because the colours are so bright and cheerful.

This is my One Monthly Goal project for May. I intend to decide on a layout and get this collection of pieces sewn into a quilt top this month... finally!

Good luck dealing with that "problem child" this month, Kathy. Whatever you decide to do with those blocks, they are going to make a quilt that is SEW darling!!

I like the hexagon layout. Don't overthink this, just do it. You'll be relieved to get it done.

When I cleaned my craft room in Jan, I found a UFO from around 2000! I am definitely going to try and take it on this year too. Your quilt is bright and beautiful. I look forward to seeing what you decide.

You got this....looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I also went looking for my next quilt top to finish and came across an orphan quilt that I adopted a few years ago...any guesses. Maybe I should try to finish what I was going to do to it!! You never know!

This one looks so happy; I am glad that its time has come!

I also have an old UFO...from sometime in the 90's. I am thinking that this might be the year to get it out. :)

Yes, it's certainly time to take your problem child in hand and show her who is boss!

What a perfect UFO for right now! Great colors and just far enough along that you can focus on layout and then move directly to a finish!:)

That is far too pretty to be left as a UFO. Good luck on getting it finished.

This proves that when you label someone(thing) a problem child they live up to their name!
It is a very cheery, cherry quilt. :)

I still have a UFO from 2005 that only needs one block finished (and sashing). and another one, still in the bag with the receipt, from about 2007. I have way too many UFO's. Glad you are getting some of yours finished. Cute!!!
