Purple

Wishing Ring blocks
Purple is the September colour at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I don't seem to enjoy sewing with purple and don't know why. I like to wear it, but don't seem to "see" it as a colour when I'm choosing colours for a quilt. Weird eh?
But I do love my 4" purple Wishing Ring blocks!

And the purple blocks were definitely needed for this project. Here are all the blocks on the design wall. Wow I love this project!

And speaking of the colour purple, Cherrywood Fabrics had a Prince challenge that resulted in the most amazing purple quilts. Quilters were encouraged to let the music of Prince inspire them, to be creative, and to think outside the box, and they did - click here to be inspired by the winners.

Today I'll be sewing up this little handful of purple deliciousness into 8 Economy Path blocks that finish at 3"!
Hop over to the RSC link up to be inspired by the  quilters sewing up their purple scraps.

I find it interesting which colors people seem to enjoy and not enjoy sewing with! Your WR blocks are pretty up on the design wall. Oh my goodness - those will be lots of teeny tiny seams in your Economy Path blocks.

I've found that some of my purple shades do not play well together this month. Some too red, some too grey. All pretty individually though. Such a nice collection. Enough for a quilt?

My favorite color is purple, but I don't have one thing in my house that is purple except when it is Halloween. I also don't pick it for sewing unless I absolutely need to. I love sewing with red, black, and white combinations and find they make me happy. Maybe it's the starkness of them...I don't know. Your purple blocks are very pretty!

I love your blocks. I use those clips for keeping block pieces together too. Hugs

Your wishing ring quilt is gorgeous!

I think purple can be hard to see when I'm knitting or crocheting, perhaps it seems that way to you while sewing? Sounds like lots of stitching to end up with 3 inches. You must be very patient. Always enjoy seeing your pretty work.

Your purple is calling to me. I wear it AND reach for it for my quilts. Love all of the little blocks you create in your rainbow challenge projects!

I know exactly what you mean about purple but it sits really well in your quilt! The winners of the Prince competition are amazing. I've got an ear worm going on and I can't get Purple Rain out of my head now!!!

Maybe you will see purple more now that you see how much it adds to your pretty project!

That rainbow of wedding ring blocks is pretty impressive and very pretty. I love sewing with purple, but I don't wear it or use it to decorate. Which I've always thought was strange.
