Scrappy Saturday

If you like scrap quilts, you have to go see the Tucker Quilt Parade over at Pam Buda's Heartspun Quilts. There were a lot of scraps sewn into little quilts in November. Most of the quilts shown were made in the USA, but there were a few from Canada, and also represented were UK, Paris, Brazil, and Holland.
What am I sewing with my scraps this week?

Mostly I am making blocks from the scraps being generated from the Quiltville mystery. We are working on step #4, and this is the first block I put together.
Hey, it's Santa!

Only guess what?
I sewed the blocks together wrong. Ugh. I was so excited about my blocks looking like Santa, that I sewed 4 sets wrong before I realized the problem. Today I will be unsewing those Santa blocks and this time I'll be sewing them according to the directions.

And with the tiny scraps from the mystery blocks, I have been sewing double nine patches for Omigosh. Here are the newest 4 blocks.

To see what other scrap quilters are sewing this week, hop over to the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

Well done with the mystery.
I hope to get into it after the new year. I don't know what day it is ATM

More adorable baby nines! Glad you figured out that you were sewing the mystery blocks wrong before you got any further. Unsewing in the least fun of all sewing.

Clue 4 is a tricky one, I'm working on it now, but have the instructions SO many times!

It's never any fun ripping out stitches and it seems a bit sad to have to take Santa apart :(

Omigosh is on my someday list and I am hoping that someday turns up around here soon!!!

Good for you -- mystery quilt blocks coming along (well 1 step forward after a step or two back -- eeek!) And little blocks too. Amazing.

Your little Santa is just the cutest ever. I need to give him a try. I have just made 60 napkins with little quilted strips going across them and have mailed them all. Now I am ready for a change of pace. Thanks for the idea. Will let you know what I come up with. Hugs and Merry Sewing Christmas....genie

Crazy, you got a bit mixed up there sewing your Headless geese together. Good to laugh about it! I had to do some un-sewing last night on some Christmas gifts. Not from a Boo Boo, just making a change.

How annoying when you sew it together wrong. Still at least you didn't get too far before you realised!

At least you got a cute Santa photo out of it. The nine-patches look cute. Keep up the good work!

Only four blocks isn't too bad, it could have been so much worse. Looks like you've got lots of scrappy fun going on in your sewing room.

I love your blocks. I don't do mystery quilts because I am terrible at following directions.
