FNSI

Ahhh....TGIF!
I thought it was going to be Friday Night Sew-In today. It's usually the 3rd friday night of the month, so I invited a few friends over for a quilting party. But then I checked Heidi's blog, and found out that FNSI is not until next week. Oh well, I'm busy next week, so tonight it is!
I have my projects all ready to go.
I decided I must finish my Orca Bay mystery from last year because Bonnie Hunter is starting her annual (free and always amazing!) mystery next month and I want to be able to participate guilt free. When I was last working on Orca Bay (in January!), I just had the final border to piece. I remembered that I had run out of fabric, and thought it would be easy to find more, but it wasn't! I didn't find more fabric until the weekend I bought my Singer Treadle and stopped in at Mary Maxim...and there it was! I was really lucky that weekend I tell you!
So while I watched Quiltcam last night I collected and counted all the pieces, and cut out all the remaining parts to finish the border, and am ready to finish sewing that mystery top.
Also I have my pieces ready to sew part #3 for my Jack of Hearts mystery
Check back tomorrow to see if indeed anything got accomplished, besides laughing and chatting!

I really want to do her mystery this year. I have not done one yet but this is the year. Must get busy and finish some quilts off first. Good luck tonight on your sew in.

I haven't finished Orca Bay yet, either. And like Mary, I believe your method of doing it smaller and without string blocks is what inspired me to start it.
I look forward to seeing your progress after your Friday Night laugh-in--I mean sew in! : )

FNSI is possible every Friday, right? How fun to sew with friends. Glad you were lucky and found that extra fabric you were lacking. Keep Calm and Sew On!

I like what I see of your Orca Bay blocks. I can't believe it has been almost a year since we started that mystery. Mine is in blocks and pieces. You are right, it would be nice to finish that before starting(or thinking about) the next one.

I will be there in spirit. I have had a busy week taking classes with Heather Stewart at our guild, 3 days, 3 new UFOs.
I am hoping my stamina lasts long enough to do some sewing tonight and thinking of you all having fun.My Orca Bay top is done but not quilted, another one to complete this winter!! Enjoy tonight and say hello to Barb J.

We can have our own Friday night sew in. I am heading to my room now. I have some brown scraps and other rainbow log cabins to work on. I still have to finish Orca Bay and plan to do the next mystery.

Your Orca Bay blocks look good. It won't be long until it will be finished. I've never done a Bonnie Hunter mystery, but they sound like lots of fun. Wish I had more of my UFOs finished though. I do Planet Patchwork Mysteries every Near Year's day and several other mysteries and not all of them are finished yet. Still I may be tempted. Good luck on finishing more of your UFOs.
