Happy Anniversary Slow Sunday Stitching!

Welcome to the hand stitching party!
The first link up was June 24, 2012 so this weekend we are celebrating 7 years of Slow Sunday Stitching adventures! Over the years I changed link services so we can't see who signed up in the inaugural post, but there were enough link ups to encourage me to continue opportunities for weekly connection with other hand stitchers. My goal was to inspire people to slow down, to take a deep breath, to dedicate precious time to the healing process of hand work, and to connect with other creative like minded stitchers.

The Hand Stitching Gang
And all these years later, there are still folks who are hand stitching and blogging about it. And they are still willing to share their projects with us!

Thank you so much for reading, for stitching, for encouraging others, for blogging, and for linking up! All of these activities take time and are a commitment to the "slow movement" of mindful living.

And now onto the celebration part... one of the link ups today will win this loot bag:
*some sparkly Wonderfil threads,
*a Quilt Canada journal and pen,
*a package of Black Gold Clover needles which are my favourites for hand stitching at the moment, and
*a charm pack called "Hello my Friend" because everybody loves fabric!
I will draw the winning number from the hand stitching link ups below on Monday night and announce it on Tuesday.

For the celebration today, I invite you to post about your current hand work projects and/or your favourite finishes.
One of my all time favourite finishes is "Journey of a Quilter", which was hand embroidered and hand quilted over a 7 year period.
Okay... your turn....

Congratulations to you, Kathy, and thank you for making available this link up party for the love of all things hand stitching for 7 years. It is a wonderful opportunity for us hand stitchers to join in and celebrate our love of slow stitching and showcase our handiwork, sharing our pretties with others. May I say your "Journey of a Quilter" is a masterpiece in embroidery, piecing and hand quilting. This is a most beautiful quilt. Here's to many, many more years in celebration of gentle hand stitching.

Congratulations on the anniversary. You have done a lot to encourage other quilters to take the time to slow down and stitch. Probably helped all of our health too doing it! Thank you.

Congratulations on 7 wonderful years of encouragement! So many wonderful friendships have formed from your link ups and we are all so grateful. May the therapy of hand work thrive and grow... it is so calming which is very needed in this crazy, fast paced world we live in.

Thanks so much for hosting Slow Sunday Stitching, Kathy, and for keeping it going. Congratulations on 7 years. No need to include me in the drawing for the celebration gift since I participate only occasionally. I just wanted to wish you all the best and many more years of link-ups.

As a non-blogger I want to wish you a Happy Blogaversary and let you know that even though I never link up, I've spent many happy hours visiting you and the other Slow Sunday Stitchers. Looking forward to many more years.

Happy anniversary! I went back on my blog to check and see when I first linked up. Way back on July 15th of 2012, just a couple of weeks after you started.

I'm not much of a hand-stitcher, but I do appreciate what it takes to run a linkup for SEVEN years. That's a tremendous accomplishment! Congratulations!

I must chime in too to send you congratulations on such an anniversary and for continuing to provide this avenue for us who love the hand work to meet up. And of course, to ooh and aah over all the lovely quilting you also do!

Congratulations! Well done done on the finish. I'm in the process of making a Lucy Boston quilt which is all fussy cut and hand sewn together.

I do hand stitching most every day, but I didn't get any done Sunday, since we were driving home in the rain. Congrats on hosting for 7 years.

Congratulations on your anniversary. Thanks for inspiring us to do hand stitching. I wrote up a blog post and tried to link it, but the InLinkz form to fill out wouldn't work :-(. I was pretty sure I had linked in the past, so no idea why it wouldn't let me now. In any case...I did sit in the lovely sunshine yesterday and hand stitched while musing on the concept of slow Sunday stitching :-).
