Finished Baby Quilt
The Berenstain Bears baby quilt is finally finished! The finishing of this quilt was upstaged by the other UFO finish last week, but now it's finally done.
The pattern is called "Arrows Up" and is by Jackie Seyer at FRJ designs. I pieced the quilt in 2014 and when it had marinated in the UFO closet long enough, I started the quilting!
Even though I am trying to be okay with "random layout", the places where there are clumps of colour bug me when I look at it. I remind myself again that "random" does not mean "evenly placed"! And I also tell myself that the baby won't care about exact colour placement.
Does this darkened photo show the quilting lines better?
I did stop machine quilting before the quilt became as stiff as cardboard (as advised by my blog readers!)
It's now ready for another baby to be born!
And I'm ready to finish up another quilt!

Hurry and find a baby to give it to so the clumps of color won't continue to haunt you! :)
It is very cute--congrats on a finish.
The colours are fine. It's a fun, bright quilt. Maybe a photo of the back might show the quilting better. Just go with the flow...
When I look at your quilt, I just see a fun baby quilt...I don't see clumps if colour. Great finish!
This is just an adorable quilt--love the colors--so will baby, ;)))
I think hugs, Julierose
So cheerful and colorful. Perfect for a baby. Nice job.
I don't see any clumps of colour....all I see is a cute baby quilt!
it looks great I think, nice and colorful but not clumps as you say
There is absolutely nothing about the color arrangement of this quilt that bothers me. It looks like a well done random to me! :)
Your baby quilt turned out wonderfully...so bright and fun.
Love the Berenstein Bears...what a perfect pattern for this fabric! I would like to find the pattern but it does not show up on a google search. Can you provide more information, please?
This looks just fine. I've also spent too much time trying to achieve random placement only to discover the same colors or fabrics or themes next to each other when it's all done. But I figure it's just me being too self-critical. And with kid quilts I remind myself that they won't even notice the placement or the less than perfect quilting.
Such a fun pattern, and the fabrics are perfect for any baby. I'm sure one will be born someday soon. Until then, it is nice to have a quilt ready to go.
A sweet scrappy happy quilt!
Look at you scooting right along. I think the colours are busy enough you don't notice the blocks of colours that you speak of!!
The clumps are not obvious
I don't see clumps of color either. The placement of the fabrics is fine.
Congrats on a fun finish!
