The inside of Kevin's mystery quilt is finally sewn together! The last step was posted 2 weeks ago, and it was a lot of sewing to get the blocks and sashings all sewn together.
Now it is time to get the border pieces together and get the 3 borders added. Adding borders is really not my favourite activity (understatement of the year!) and this is sometimes when a project starts the slow march toward the UFO closet while waiting for borders. Let's hope I don't lose momentum with this one!

Your emerald version turned out beautifully! Good luck with the borders.
Don't lose momentum!! Go, go, go!!! Sew, sew, sew!!! =)
Don't lose momentum on this one ; too pretty! :)
It looks so good...keep going! I am looking forward to seeing it with the borders. :)
Oh Kathy, get those borders on this one. It's gorgeous! We'll all just be waiting here, to see those borders. Haha -- does that help??
Kathy,
I totally get that attaching borders is not your favorite. Cutting and attaching borders is my least favorite part of the quilting process. I was so good yesterday, I cut out the borders for four quilts. Unfortunately, these are only the first borders and I am using multiple borders on all four of the quilts. Oh well, at least the process is moving along. Love the way this quilt turned out. The sashing is awesome.
Looks gorgeous, Kathy! I'm slow at borders too. I make a lot of borderless quilts.
This looks fabulous! - oh, I'll join you on the border problem so mine might sit a while too.
Keep the momentum...this looks wonderful!
It's a beautiful quilt! I'm not fond of adding borders, either, but just think. You are in the home stretch!
Kathy! Your Emerald Stars version is so beautiful! I truly love your sashing choices! How about we make a deal? Just add on a border a day, or every other day, and that way it won't be so overwhelming! LOL I can't wait to see it finished! Thanks so much for the shout outs and playing along!
I love your description of what happens when it is time to add borders. Story of my life!! :)
It looks wonderful!
Wow! What a great design!
(Now I need to check out Kevin's site.)
Awesome alternate block in this Mystery. Great colors and contrast. Borders can be the hard part, I know. You can do it! Cheering you on!
I am very intrigued by the use of the tiny checked fabric. It makes an interesting area in those blocks.
Kathy, this turned out awesome! No doubt the borders will fall in place.
Kathy, Your Emerald Stars just glows. It is beautiful. I like seeing them in colors other than red, white and blue. I'm with you 100% about borders being my least favorite thing to do with a quilt. Take Kevin's advice for this one. It was all downhill after getting the sashing put on, so it's definitely doable.
This turned out beautifully! I love the greens that you used. You are so close to being done!
