Great Canadian Winter Day

It was a winter wonderland here yesterday. We had "an Alberta clipper combined with moisture from a Texas low"...whatever that means!
All I know is that we had a lot of snow.
It was a perfect day to stay inside and sew. I did a little treadling on my Singer while I watched the snow fall.
I was going to go visit my parents, but I had no luck catching a bus.
Both of these buses were stuck while trying to make a turn.

The roads were icy under all that snow. I saw the first bus manage to get on it's way, but the second bus was still stuck when I decided that if the buses can't get around, maybe I shouldn't be out and about either. So I just went home and sewed some more.
I made some more Alamo stars in the colour of the month - purple. These are so pretty!
Hop over to SoScrappy and see the other purple projects.

In honour of our wonderful weather, here is some Canadian humour to enjoy...

It certainly was a good day to stay inside yesterday, although we didn't get as much snow as some places. I love your parking picture - there is actually a car (jeep) in my neighbourhood which has spent the past week parked half-way up the snowbank.

That is a lot of snow! I'd stay in .
Thank you for the link to the treadle information. I also went to the TreadleOn site. I have a treadle that I received from my grandmother but I need to clean it up and replace the belt. Then I intend to use it . That site looks like is would be a great source of information.

That is alot of snow...luckily we didn't get very much at all and we are north of you!! hmmm
Isn't is nice to quilt or sew and look outdoors at it snowing. That is my favorite time to be handquilting. Take care and stay warm!

Best to just stay home and sew when it snows! Thanks for the giggles today and I love your purple blocks too.

Spending a day indoors where it's warm and cozy with a sewing machine nearby was a very good idea. LOL

Thanks for the giggles this morning. LOL

Great stars again this week. I am tough Canadian girl and have sunbathed with snow all round. I took the snow off my lawn chair first. The storm just sounds like a good time to stay home and sew. Hope you do not run out of fabric. he he

Kathy, purple Alamo stars are cute. Weather in Calgary has been funny today, a couple of flurries and then sunny skies.
