February's UFO

February's UFO is my BeAttitudes quilt.
I just love this Nancy Halvorsen pattern and really want this to be a finished quilt.
The machine appliqued blocks have been finished for over a year. They are now sewn together and are awaiting a border decision, but I can't decide what to do. This is where many of my UFO's get stalled.
On the photo I'm thinking the light coloured border is too wide, and maybe (for sure!) I don't want all four of them for borders. Do you have a vote?
After adding the borders, I will baste and do the machine quilting so it can become a finished quilt by the end of the month. I am linking up my goal to the February Goal Setting Party. Wish me luck!

My initial thought was small green inner border and then blue..... but a small light cream print and than any of the colors as the outer border would work too. Good luck with your decision. It is a cute quilt.

good for you getting this one done...I'd at least do a dark stop border maybe use one of the other darks for your binding, it's a great quilt, I still just have the book :) no quilt.

I too had tough decisions with the borders on this one! I really like what you have chosen with the blue and cream. Such an inspiring quilt, isn't it?

Oh my gosh, I love this quilt! I was studying your auditioned fabrics and I'm thinking if you used either the blue or the red for a small inner "framing" border, then you could more easily determine which of the remaining fabrics would work the best to compliment the blocks and make them the STAR of the quilt. No matter what you decide, I'm certain it will be perfect and I can't wait to see it finished. Big Hugs...

Kathy, what a wonderful inspiring quilt!!! I love it!! My vote for the borders is the dark brown and red - I think it will make those fabrics pop in the quilt!!

Sometimes making the border(s)decision stalls me too. I don't have a vote to offer. The blocks are great, you've done a lot of work in making them.

It looks amazing!
I think I like a small blue border then maybe a beige one but not too large. I feel the brown and red might be too overpowering for the quilt. Good Luck!!

Personally I don't think you can ever go wrong with red! I would have a small blue and then end with red to pull the red throughout to the outside. I think the green kills it and the beige is blah IMHO. Just ask and we all will give you our opinion ;0

I have borderless flimsies piling up at my house, too. : )
I think any of the colors you have chosen will work well. They each bring out different colors in the quilt itself, so I think it depends on what colors you want to play up.

Such a cute pattern! I would do a 1" cream border then the blue with red binding - depends on how big you want it.

Boy that is a tough call! How about a 2, 3, 4 finished border set in blue, red and cream, and end with green binding?

I like your dark skinny 'stop' along with a wider red border. I'm not a fan of that lighter color as it seems to take something away from your wonderful blocks.

I think skinny red with wide blue or skinny blue with wide red. These blocks are so adorable! Nice job getting another UFO out of your hair

Great quilt, Kathy! I like the dark, blue and light for borders. Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be wonderful!

This is another quilt that I want to do someday :*) It's a real winner!!! You've got so many opinions here - mine is just one more, but here goes. I really think the cream is too light, especially for a border. I would use the red for sure because it will call the red outward from the middle, especially those wonderful words. I would use your favorite color for the outer border, because that is the color your quilt will seem to be when you are done. Does any of that make sense? It's going to be wonderful, no matter how you go about it!

I like the black then blue at the size you show here. Are you trying to add size with that last wide border? It owuld be interesting to see either the red (instead of blue as a wide border) or the blue wider. I think the red is too bold though.

You always figure it out. Have fun playing!

I remember watching you put this one together: so glad you are going to be able to get it done. I have a couple like that that I just need to "get er done."

Good Luck. I'll be happy to see it after you've added the borders.

I made this! As individual wallhangings. So good to see the pattern as a quilt again. Good luck.....
