received a stamp for my passport and picked up 2 pieces of fabric. On the left are the fabrics I collected at the stores. At the 6th store I was given the green fabric for the border/binding, and the pattern to make a Spring banner using 
these fabrics. Over the weekend, I sewed it together and just finishing sewing on the binding tonight while watching the Amazing Race. The colours are a little off on the right, but you can see what the project is.The letters were made with fusible applique, which I haven't done a lot of. And wouldn't you know it, the very first letter I made got gunk on my iron! That is why I don't use it very often - I don't like getting my iron gunked up! I'm sure if I used this technique more often, I wouldn't have this problem and would learn how to avoid this.
However...the banner is finished and measures 15" x 23". Now I have to clean my iron!

Cute banner! I think I have read to iron on one of those fabric softener sheets to get that gunk off. Bad, bad gunk!
Cute banner! I don't use my good iron when working with the stuff, which I tend to do with my daughter. We use her iron! ;o) Keep well!
Kathy, I love the spring banner. Our shops seem to prefer large quilts, but I think the banner is a terrific idea.

What a sweet spring time banner. To keep the iron from getting gummed up try a pressing sheet, muslin will do.

Your little quilt is finished just in time to be able to enjoy it. I struggle with using fusible myself. I am impressed that you went home and started working it right away.
Kathy, that is so cute! I love it. I am going to start paying attention and see if there are any Shop Hops around my house. I have never gone on one and I think it would be fun. Probably expensive, knowing myself as I do, but fun all the same.
