I'm not tired of the process of improv piecing yet, so I'm thinking of making another 2 or 3 rows to make it a bit bigger. However, I am eager to start another project this week, so I better get over to the sewing machine and get to "work"!

I started my own vortex! Love yours!
Lots and Lots of scraps on your wall. I'm drowning in scraps calling my name. I just need a week or two at home without distractions so I can get them sliced and diced into my scrap users system. I did read Diane's post and have to comment. It was so nice that she could find the owner and return her baby quilt. I wonder about my treasured quilts and what will happen to them when I am gone. I dread the thought that they'll be sold at a yard sale for $5
Looking good! Looks like you've used up a lot of little scraps for this one.
I've kind of started Scrap Vortex but I'm not very far along. I'm trying to build blocks around leftover pieced blocks. I plan to cut the larger blocks apart to make them smaller. This is definitely something I don't normally piece so it is real challenge for me. I'm piecing them as leader and enders between another project.
This is such a fun project to look at, wonderful scrappy blocks.
it is looking great! the more I see this quilt that you are making the more tempted I am to start one like this or something like it to use up more of my scraps.
Love all the progress you have made so far :)
Looking good, keep it up!
Wow--very cool and look at all the scraps you have used up! I hope you are keeping track of how many pieces there are in the quilt (just kidding!).
Great to have the day off and do some sewing. Very colourful, Very scrappy. Very improvisational. Scrap Vortex is such a good name for this style - it just draws you in and swirls you around all the colour.
Love how this is coming along!
WOW That is a quilt in motion with color
This is one wild and crazy quilt Kathy!
then there is the work of quilting!. It's gorgeous. I bet all those seams make it heavy too. LeeAnna
Gosh your Scrap Vortex is coming along a treat, love the sizing.
loving it have got mine to the flimsy stage now it is 60" square think it is the quilt I have enjoyed making the most so far and has had some good blog comments
This is coming along NICELY! Fun to look at so many pretty scraps coming together.
I blame you.
I've all but lost my New Hexagon Millefiori obsession and am gathering my scraps to go Vortex lol
And fussy cutting does give you lots ( more) scraps to play with !
It is very freeing to be able to piece like this. Your vortex quilt is going to look amazing!
