Scrap Happy Monday
The blocks are all sewn for my QPOM and I love it's yummy scrappiness! This isn't the final layout and changes will still be made every time I walk past, but the blocks are done, and a small dent has been made in the scrap bin!
Lucy, my new Singer 301A, got a wonderful workout sewing these blocks. She is very clear that she does not like to wind bobbins, but I think I can fix that by replacing the bobbin winder tire ring.

That is a great scrap quilt. Love the little blocks you put in in the middle strip - adds a quirkiness.
Kathy, love your scrap quilt and LOVE Lucy... my honey fixes and sells 221's and 301's. If you need any help finding a tire or have any other questions please ask :) Kathi
Doesn't it feel good to use up so many scraps. I am cutting scraps into usable sizes and imagining along the way what those squares will be made into!
What a great looking scrap quilt. Love the variety in the colours.
That is lovely! I've got a pile of small bits by the sewing machine.... I think I need to break out my 301 and start sewing them together.
looking great, I love this block, I have a few made need to get them back out and sew more while I still have all these strips out sewing nine patches! thanks for the inspiration
Kathie
Wow! It did not take long to finish those blocks at all! Looking great! (I'm thinking your scrap bin looks about the same...we all know scraps breed when we are not looking...)
Your 'scraps' look fantastic - you did a great job! So much better to have the scraps in a quilt instead of in a bin!!
Don't take your eye off the scrap bin. If you do, it will start expanding again. Mine never seems to have less in it.
a great scrappy quilt.
Great scrappiness in that quilt! I wish your Lucy would come along and talk to my "new-to-me" Singer 301A about her footsie pedal that stalls and then takes off like a speed demon! I have to have it looked at for sure. Haven't tried bobbin winding--she's sitting in the corner (bad girl!) being ostracized right now!! hugs, Julierose
What I love about making the quilt with scraps is that you vary the position of the light, medium and dark values. The way I put mine together using regular yardage they remain constant. So much more interest when its scrappy. Great job! Will it be ready to show at Guild?
What a wonderful scrappy quilt pattern . . . did you pre-cut your strips to length before making the blocks? (rather than making strata) ??
What a great way to use up scraps. I love how colourful it is.
Your blocks turned out great!
It looks fab-you-luss!! And I'm sure there are still lots of scraps left for lots more quilts.
I love the scrapiness in those blocks!
Well, she may not enjoy bobbin winding, but she does a nice job of piecing, that's for sure. These blocks are so great!
Looks great. And yea! for a dent made in the scraps, no matter how small a dent.
Yummy indeed. The little center square adds great visual interest to the strips. And yay for the 301! (I love mine.)
I just love the look of this quilt!
Hooray for scrap Happy Monday. Glad the blocks are all done. What size is this quilt ending up?
I love scrap quilts and this one is wondeful!
What a great way to use up your scraps!
Pretty scraps make for a very pretty quilt. Have fun moving the blocks around, that's one of my favorite parts.
Awesome Scrappy Quilt!! i love it!
