Scrappy Saturday

The RSC'ers are working on the "dark side" this month to use up brown and black scraps.  I have been cutting and sewing some batik scraps for Alamo Star blocks, which I have been sewing in between other seams (aka "leaders/enders").

These are tiny blocks, as you can see by the size of the squares under the presser foot. The squares are 1.25", so the star blocks will be 2.25" finished.

You can see that the Alamo Star collection definitely needs more blocks with dark backgrounds. But this is the last week for dark scraps, so I will finish up the blocks I have cut and then see what the next colour will be for November.

Love those little stars. I can't wait to see them all together in a quilt top. Great new header shot - so pretty with the fall colors in the background.

Oh, I want to play in your pile of stars!! : )
How many have you made now? Do you have a target or are you just going to keep making them and see if you ever feel finished?

I don't use batiks but I am finding these star blocks to be quite nice.

Nice to see your stack of stars. I'm playing with a different kind of Scrappy today- Quilting my Midnight Flight for the Scrappy Category of the Blogger's Quilt Festival.

So many little blocks! It's going to be one of those quilts everyone will gap in wonder at all the tine blocks (besides gaping at how gorgeous it is).
