TGIF - Sew Along updates

It's Friday!
The Marcus sew along layout is revealed today, and I'm hoping it will be able to turn my sow's ear into a silk purse!
Here is block #9 that I sewed this week. I changed up some of the colour placement and used up many background scraps.

And here are all 9 of my blocks...

Too scrappy?
I don't know...we'll see what the layout is today and maybe that will help spruce it up somehow?
I'm heading over to see the big reveal...

And just as the Marcus sew along is ending, there is a new Snowalong starting over at Canuck Quilter - how fun is that??!! She is posting snowflakes blocks every week. I haven't done paper piecing in a while and am looking forward to making the first block.

And the Temecula letter sew along is up to the letter 'G'. I made a little adjustment on my G block and like it better. This is a fun project, with two 4" letter patterns posted each week. Check out the two finished letter quilts they posted. This will make a great baby gift!

I agree sow's ear!! Hoping for some magic to happen.I used plaid scraps so will have no problem letting this one go to a new home to be loved! I will have to say "NO" to snowflakes. I did my nine when we were together this summer and that was enough.I am going on a retreat after Thanksgiving and must start getting kits together so I can just sew and sew. I won't have to think about cutting! Have a great weekend!!

Oh how we all have different taste. I love the blocks. The Orange in so many of the blocks yells fall too me which is one my favorite seasons. I am sure that it will be beautiful when complete.

Sampler quilts are suppose to be scrappy and I think they all play nice together. Thank you for the snowflake link - that looks like fun.

I went to the link and see there is some sashing! just what I thought it needed - love the blocks but I would need something to separate them a little.

Too scrappy? Are you kidding? Is there such a thing? I think the blocks look great!! Don't like them? I'll give them a home. *LOL*
I haven't headed over for the big reveal yet. I am curious if it makes you feel better about your blocks.
Thanks for the link on the Snowalong (love that clever name). I have been collecting paper pieced snowflake patterns for a couple of years now. I won't be making them as they are posted--who knows when I'll make them, but I will collect the patterns!

Is there such a thing as too scrappy? I peaked at the reveal and it looks pretty good to me. I hope you will fall in love with your quilt by the time you are all done.

No such thing as too scrappy. They just need the right setting. It will all come together beautifully I'm sure. Thanks for the shout-out for my Snowalong!

I sneaked a peek and I know you can unite them perfectly with the setting =). I still need to make my snowflake....... I think I'll make it tomorrow night while Greg goes to pick up the kids from Grandma. 2.5 hours of peace and quiet to sew =).

I like the way you placed them. They all look great. I haven't done mine yet because my machine is busy with the walking foot and I can't sew a straight quarter inch with that thing. LOL. I will catch up soon. Thanks for the link to Canuck quilter. I will check that one out for sure. Enjoy!
