Celtic Solstice
I have been working away on step #1 of Celtic Solstice, which are Tri Recs blocks. This is such a fantastic ruler, one I have used a lot over the years, and these blocks are fun to sew. It was the perfect unit to kick off the mystery adventure! So far I've made about 60 of each coloured blocks.
Pink is my "orange" fabric and the light coloured triangles are my "neutral" fabrics. You can read more about my fabric choices by clicking here.
I watched all of the videos that Bonnie posted with the first step, and they were great. You always pick up tips to make things easier when you see how other quilters sew. I even enjoyed watching the Inklingo video and could see a lot of possibilities with this program. I am using the rulers for this project because I have them and they work great.
I am loving my fabrics so far, and even though I have no idea how it all will turn out, these blocks are making me happy! I have about 35 more blocks to sew of both colours, which I will work on during QuiltCam on Wednesday night. So I will be ready for step #2 on Friday.
To see more quilters progress on step #1, hop over to the Quiltville link up.

Very pretty! Mine are ready to get sewn today right after I drop kids off to school.
The more of these I see the more I am thinking of joining in the fun. I swore I wasn't going to but.....
you've been BUSY yesterday, they look great!! love your color choices, it's going to be a stunning quilt, can't wait for another clue, though I won't be able to work on it until monday I think.
Looking Good! This is exciting :)
Love your color choices and how your post on how you chose your colors got into fabric values using black and white photo :) Thanks for always teaching me something! Enjoying watching you as you unfold this mystery with your own colors... I may play next time and use my own colors too! :) Kathi P>S> Will be watching quilt cam tomorrow nite... will she sew or only answer mystery questions??? lol
Looking good and you're moving right along. Your colors are wonderful.
I really like your color choices - so pretty! I went with Bonnie's color choices as I am really really bad at coming up with alternative choices. Plus with a maiden name like Patty Kelly I thought I should stay true to my Irish roots! I am making the King size quilt and ye GADS that is a lot of cutting and sewing and trimming! Almost done. Whew.
I am enjoying all the different color choices in this Mystery. I hope that means there won't be so many cookie cutter Mystery quilts in Blogland next year. I'm tempted to CUT OUT another set of Part 1 to make this for my Sister...
So pretty! I can hardly wait to see that these become...
I really like your color choices. I haven't done a mystery quilt before. I thought about trying this one, but the colors weren't my thing. But these colors I love. I may have to rethink joining up now. Love yours.

Looking good Kathy! With all my traveling last week & commitments this week, I haven't even pulled fabrics yet.... I don't want to get too far behind or I'll never start :*) Your cute blocks sure do encourage me to get busy!!!
I am loving your fabrics too!
Love your color choices! Great progress so far.
Pretty blocks! I bet there will be a lot of people sewing their mystery blocks with Bonnie on Weds.
Interesting colours. You've gotten a big chunk done already, will be next to nothing left to do Wednesday, lol
I really like your colours and am absolutely amazed at how much you've got done already!
Super fabric choices - looks like lots of scrappy fun is being had.
Love your color choices. Looking good so far!
I am always in awe of those of you who "keep up" with Bonnie. I know you don't always stay with her, but so far, so good! : )
these have worked so well I must slap my wrists as I have the tri rec along with quite a few other templates but not using them as I should,
I love the rulers too. I bought them for this project and am amazed by how much faster the project is going than if I'd paper-pieced it, or tried another method. Whoo Hoo!
Love your colors. I'm way behind, the hard drive crash and holiday prep have kept me off the Internet and out of the sewing room.
