Well, here it is...a finished quilt top!
Determined not to buy more fabric for this scrappy quilt, I auditioned lots of possible borders from the stash, thinking I wanted more blue or something dark to showcase the star blocks.
But the quilt insisted on something brighter.
I liked this red fabric and it turned out I barely had just enough if I cut the strips 4.5", so I did! Not sure yet what I will use for the binding?!
It has been a long time since I had a finished quilt top to share on DWM! Hop over to Patchwork Times to see more posts.

The red is the perfect border fabric. So glad the quilt was talking to you! A gold or green or blue would work for a binding..... or scrappy with all the colors in the quilt going around. Congrats on the top finish.
I think you made the right choice for border fabric. I have been trying to use stash too but for the latest project I am cutting out, I had to purchase some background fabric.
Perfect border choice. Isn't it great how the quilts scream at us!! I think a dark blue binding would be fun. Great quilt top.
Love it! Especially the way you sashed it with the stars. Nice work!
Yay!!! Aren't finished tops just so much fun?!? I love the scrappiness of this one, and the red is the perfect border :*)
I love all the different blocks and the colors are perfect...great quilt!
Very nice. I love the stars in the setting blocks.
your border choice is a great match. Nice to use up the stash! The star sashing makes this quilt better, too. Congrats on a Finished Flimsy.
Congrats on a flimsy, Kathy! I like the stars created by the cornerstones and sashing, and I think your border color is great with these blocks!
Love the red border! Yay for a finished top ;-)
Very glad you listened to that red fabric. It makes a great border. What did you do about the sashing problem? The flimsy looks great.
Your sampler quilt is wonderful. Love the red choice for the border and especially love those stars that pop out. Great finish!
I'm in complete agreement with everyone else... love the red fabric border, and every block is a favorite! Love that scrappy look!
Yea! A finished top! Love those star cornerstones.
That red is perfect. It's funny how some tops let you know exactly what they need and others keep you guessing.
What a stunning quilt.. The colours are wonderful!
