Design Wall Monday #19 - Broken Dishes

I have returned to working on one of my HST projects because I was tired of moving it from place to place in my quilt studio! I posted about these blocks in April when I was trying to figure out a layout - click here to read about it.
The block design is called "broken dishes", and the idea that came to me when I was sewing the blocks was to sew 4 broken dishes together to look like dinner plates.
Although I liked the look of the plates on pointe,  the ohio star block jumped out at me too much, so I decided to just keep them in a straight setting. I like the secondary pattern when they are joined together, but then it lost the look of plates, so the final decision was straight set, with sashing.
But what to do about this sashing?  Do you like any of these sashing options? I leaning towards the middle row - cornerstones of scrappy diamonds.
BTW - Bonnie's new quilt uses the same broken dishes block and lots of string piecing and it is gorgeous!

Pretty! Definitely prefer the middle sashing option. It flows nicely with the design and has a nice clean look.

I agree about the center sashing, the diamonds float in the center and allows each plate to show.

Love, love! Top sashing for me, but all would look very nice!

It looks beautiful! Middle sashing for me, but all 3 would work.

uhhh lovely! I like the sashings on all of them, first I had to do a second look and didn't know what you were talking about, then realized it was the sashing! I think the more traditional one is the 3rd row.... I don't know, they all look good

I like the little corner stones! And I like your reasoning for working on this particular project. That's how I sometimes choose projects, too.

I like the midle one too for the sashing. These look great and sure use up a lot of scraps!

I like the middle sashing. I think the squares on point cornerstones echo the HSTs adjacent to them.

Great idea.

Great looking quilt. I'd go for the little diamonds in the middle.

I'm voting with the herd, here. Definitely love the middle sashing--but none of the options would ruin this quilt. It is beautiful!

I'm going to put in my vote and then read the other comments. I'm partial to the little middle diamonds with the different colors. Now I'll see if I'm a minority.

I agree that the middle row with the parts on point. It gives more interest to the setting.

I agree, the middle one is the best.
