Design Wall Monday #34

On my design wall this week is the first 4 blocks of my scrappy ticker tape quilt.
You can read about the beginning of the project on this blog post.  It is coming along well and I am happy with the shapes that are evolving on the blocks...some triangles, and the rest seem to be 4 sided shapes (which Amy probably knows the proper names of!).
I think I will have enough scraps to make at least 9 blocks.

  4. I have a friend that makes "rock candy". These blocks remind me of that. So fun to use up those tiny scraps, nothing wasted at your house!

  6. So these are raw edge applique? I could do that. I have scraps!! I have seen some sweatshirt jackets done that way but they were more semetrical; I like your odd shapes. Oh, no, I feel another project coming on.

  7. oh great, something else I can do with the scraps that are so tiny I can't even use them in crumb quilting very well! I had just convinced myself to finally toss them out! It does look great, such a fun light quilt.

And Angela is correct: quadrilaterals. However, some of the newer math books are calling them quadrangles (to mimic tri"angles" I guess???)
