Making progress with the mystery

In my spare minutes, I am still sewing away on my mystery blocks. My last post about it was Dec. 21st - click here to see my step #4 blocks, which were fun to sew.
This week I am working on step #5  and it's a BIG step with a lot of sewing.  Here is a wrong block...easily fixed with a seam ripper and some patience! Getting the centre point to match up has been quite challenging and I am lowering my standards increasingly as I want to move to the next step LOL!  I find myself saying "I can do better than that" less frequently, and saying "close enough" more often! Do you know what I mean?!?
I am still enjoying working on these mystery blocks, however I am anxious to move on to the second half of step #5.

The design calls for 48 of these Pointsettia Star blocks and here are the 30 I have finished.

I know exactly what you mean :-) Same here. And it gets worse, step 6: even more seams to match. But I know we'll end up with a gorgeous quilt and it's all worth the struggling.

I know what you mean...some of my quilty friends say they'll rip once and if it's still not perfect that's as good as it gets, others say...unless you can see it from a galloping horse, leave it alone--that's a little too radical for me, but a little off- that's ok in my book.

I still have not started this quilt...too much on my list of things that have to be done very soon!!! (the stuff with deadlines)

I hope to start soon. The fabrics are washed and ironed...

I'm loving your color combination.

I'm at the same point that you are. A few of my points aren't quite perfect, but I'm thinking I'm ok with that. :-)

I know what you mean. I'm stuck on part 3...I have to sew a water bottle caddy. I've sewn some of my squares to my rectangles and the corners are bunching, but I'm going to keep going. Will I regret it? I hope not. : )

They look better than "good enough" to me, they look beautiful. I like mine to be as near perfect as possible, but I know what you mean, I'm not perfect, and I don't want to make myself crazy trying to be. My skills are improving, but not there yet.

One of your best quilts, Kathy

I am loving your colors. I like how the green sits in the background but is still noticed. I'm about the same place you are in my sewing on this quilt .... can't wait to see your finish

I sure do know what you mean, but from what I can see you are doing just fine with this quilt. It's pretty and cheerful!

I tell myself "if this were an antique quilt we wouldn't expect everything to line up perfectly". These little bits add character - I firmly believe it!
