Rainbow Sewcialites

A new RSC project has been started in my sewing room! You know how it goes here 😀

Fat Quarter Shop has started Sewcialites 2 which is a free sew along. I missed out on the first series last year (darn my self control!)... but I'm not missing out this time around!

I am starting with a gorgeous fabric called Dragonfly Lagoon by Henry Glass which will be the border. I use the Alphabitties to help me keep all the cut pieces organized.

Here is my first block, made in bright greens since that is the RSC colour this month. Click here for the link to the first block by Bev McCullough. I found the directions a wee bit confusing, but it does say that this block is for experienced sewers. I made my first block in the 6" size, but I'm not sure if I will make the entire series in 6" yet. I may try all the sizes!

I diagnose you with a serious chronic case of FOMO. There is no cure. The good news, it is not terminal!
Nice block!

that does look like one of those patterns where you have to lay everything out really carefully and keep looking at it while you sew it so you do not make mistakes

Oh! This is a cute block and I love how you did it with the lined fabric. Very well done. You are such an enabler, haha. I don't want to join but I want to make this block. Will I fall down the rabbit hole? ;^)

This is a pretty block. I like how you use the green and yellow strip fabric.

I've been considering mixing the different sizes together too. I made one 6" block using bright batiks, but have been thinking about making some of the 9" blocks in a scrappy version too. But seeing your green block made me think I could just do scrappy green and that is a bonus because the green stash drawer that is overflowing and so is the green scrap bin.

That is sure a lovely and interesting block! It will be fun to watch your progress on the sew-along.

Well, that block is different! Looks like you are off to a good start. And I'll watch you sew along!

That is a great block, and so pretty in those greens! I say if you want to join in with a new QAL, you should go for it!

You amaze me with all your SALs, and RSC projects!
I currently have a sign on my sewing room door that reads "NO NEW STARTS". LOL

That pattern is so cute and agreed. Simple pleasures are the best.

Pretty Block. I haven't decided what size block I' will make. Can't start until my Rhodedendron Trail is finished. Still debating the final borders.
