Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!

I have met so many wonderful stitchers through our weekly link ups, and I thank each of you for participating in our little global community by linking up your projects, by sharing ideas and by encouraging other hand stitchers by leaving supportive comments for them.

One of our regular stitchers Cozy Quilter Gail shared a website called Daisy and Storm that has bazillions of free cloth patterns. I have knitted my first cloth using their "Thank You" pattern (which is listed under their "word" patterns).

I purchased the Sudz 100% cotton yarn by Estelle at Galt House of Yarn. I really enjoy knitting with this yarn and it washes well. I gifted this cloth to my friend Nancy who organizes so many fun things for our quilty friends...and she loves orange!

Today I'll be putting in some embroidery stitches on my new sampler project. These wise words have helped me a lot during the pandemic, and I was happy to find this printed pattern to stitch.

I'm not sure about the purple/blue DMC floss I picked for it. It looks darker than I thought it would. Maybe it will grow on me?

What are you hand stitching today? We'd love to have you join our linky party!

And I thank you for your hospitality and inspiration each Sunday, Kathy. The Slow Sunday Stitching ladies are a lovely group of ladies who encourage and inspire. The Thank You dishcloth is pretty; love the colour of the yarn. The Serenity Prayer is a beautiful prayer. How lovely to meditate upon each word as you slowly stitch.

Yes, wise words indeed. Would you mind telling me what stitch you are using? I have been doing a word a month textile journal page. I am finding it challenging to stitch the words!

Very wise words! I rather like the dark blue.

Those are the perfect words for the times we live in! They'll be pretty in any color floss. Enjoy your stitching today!

Happy Sunday, Kathy. I joined your link parties a year ago and I have loved every minute of it. I find inspiration from you and other quilters/ stitchers. Thank you so much for putting the time and effort into organizing the link parties and your blog posts. You have brought joy to so many. Your knitted dish cloth is gorgeous and great start on the embroidery project. I sometimes debate on floss colors too. They sometimes look different once you apply them to the fabric ( or at least in my eyes) Your floss is so lovely. Have a wonderful week and happy stitching.

Always nice to visit your stitching linkup and see the fine and pretty work all are sharing.
The Pandammit has been pretty brutal for mood and patience, for certain!

Glad you are having fun knitting the washcloths. I have more yarn to make cloths too and should start another now that my hat is done.

Enjoy your embroidery project. The purple is gorgeous.

I love your little Thank You cloth, Kathy! Is that supposed to be for washing dishes? I know my grandmother used to use hand crocheted dish cloths but I can't imagine using it that way after all the work that went into it! I'm sure your friend loves it!
