Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!
I am definitely looking forward to some slow stitching today. How about you?
I hope you will take some time today to relax and to put a few stitches into your project.

One of the important jobs for hand stitching projects is doing all the prep work so that when you have the time and energy to do some stitching, everything is organized and ready to go.
This week I prepped these 8 blocks for hand quilting. This task involved finding backing fabric, pressing the fabrics and blocks, cutting the backing and batting to the correct size, then pin basting the sandwiches. Now they are all ready for me to hand stitch today. I doubt they'll all be done, but I'm looking forward to getting started on the pile!
We love to see what you're working on, so link up your blog post below and share your project with us.

Looks like you have enough blocks basted to keep you busy this week and maybe next week too. I will be sewing in the car today!

That darn prep work! I think that's why I haven't done a thing on my Auntie Green's Garden quilt in months!!!

I have the strangest hand sewing job of anyone today. I am a costumer and am working on Into the Woods. We rented some costumes including a cow. The cow according to the play is supposed to be pure white. It came with black ears, cheeks and muzzle. I will be hand sewing on whote over the clack.

I also love to be able to sit in a comfy chair, watching a Packer football game, and having some handwork ready to grab!

I don't know about you but I really don't enjoy prep work! Good for you for getting so much done.

Are all eight blocks going to be part of one quilt? I'm thinking you're going to be assembling them QAYG style.

I've worked on stitching binding all weekend. More hand work coming, after I prep it.

Oh, I love these little blocks and am looking forward to seeing how you hand quilt them. You are such a talented quilter.

I'm so curious about your mill wheel blocks! Are they for coasters or something, or are you hand quilting them and then sewing them together like quilt as you go? Also do you quilt them without any kind of hoop? And I have never seen pin basting for hand quilting, either. I'm always intrigued when I see different ways of doing things!
