Sew a Jelly Roll Day

Did you ever know there was such a day to celebrate?!?!
Today's the day! Hop over to Project Jelly Roll to see what's going on over there.
I have been saving a jelly roll for this very occasion I was hoping to plan a jelly roll sewing party but have been too busy to get it organized. That's a sad state of affairs when you're too busy to plan some fun sewing! But it's Fall Fair season, so sewing time is at a premium.

I did get some maverick star blocks sewn this week from some orange scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. If you asked me if I liked orange I would probably tell you that I don't, but I sure do seem to have a lot of orange fabric scraps laying around here!

Here are the 36 maverick star blocks on the design wall. This project is coming along well!

And now I'm off to see what's going on in computer land to celebrate Jelly Roll day. Are you cracking open a jelly roll today?!?

I'm not a fan of orange either but like the addition of your orange blocks.

No Jelly Roll cracking open here...I don't have any!!!

love your stars I have made one something like that some time ago - not a fan of orange but then I see what someone has made and I like it. I have a little bit of orange that I add in projects but it is never the main focus.

Making pickles, emptying the garden and going to a wedding...nope no jelly roll sewing will be happening in my area today!! I might get to sew but on a already started project!

I love your orange Maverick Stars, and all of the colors together, too! That will be a beautiful scrappy quilt.

Jelly roll day?! I had no idea. I will have to check it out. Love the orange stars. They do add such a touch of sunshine to the collection.

I've never even purchased a Jelly Roll. Have FUN with yours!! Does it include a bit of ORANGE for the RSC??

I love orange! I've noticed that the orange section in most quilt stores is rather small so when I see something I like, I usually buy it. Nice stars! No time to sew today...I'm hosting a birthday party for my dad!

It's Day 2 of our Quilt Festival. Hubby is off, so I will only get to go this afternoon. Not much of the Orange in my Stash, more than there used to be though. I already have a Jelly Roll Project in process. Better finish it first. Jenny Doan put up a new Tutorial using a jelly Roll, "Summer Camp". That got me thinking of another Jelly Roll- unrolling. Of course I would change it up with some Fussy Cuts instead of the HST's. YouTube has it, you can check it out.

I had planned to do something today with a jelly roll but our out of state daughter and her husband are here this week. There isn't much sewing happening at all! Have fun stitching!

Your stars are happy and beautiful.
Today I'm going to a Kaffe Facett lecture and so I'll be
full of inspiration and color appreciation soon!

Orange is such a happy color but it seems people either love it or hate it! I love your stars. I'm working on a quilt made with a jelly roll and have about half of the jelly roll parts stitched up. Hope you get a chance to play!

Your stars are lookin' good! I love orange!
I don't have any jelly rolls; I've never bought one, or won one, or been given one. No sewing for me today, either...long shift at the day job.

Oh, I wish I was home so I could sew today. I have an old Fig Tree jelly roll I've been wanting to take care of. It's maybe the 3rd line Joanna released. It has blues and soft yellow.

Well you live and you learn. LOL. I don't buy jelly rolls, but I do have a gazillion 2.5" strips. I should perhaps get stuck into those. Nice bunch of maverick stars you have there.
