Scrappy Saturday

Orange is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour for the month of April, and I'm just starting to get the scraps pressed and organized. Almost all of my projects need orange blocks added, so I have lofty goals for this month.

I don't have any finished blocks to post today, so I'll show you my favourite Andover orange fabric.
Flummery, horripilation, scrimshanker... don't you love these words!
Try saying them out loud. It's fun!
They are real words. Of course I looked them up!
And one more photo for the rainbow scrappers....

This week I unearthed this old mini quilt that I made in 2003, way before the days of blogging and the RSC. It shows how much I have always enjoyed sewing together brightly coloured scraps.
To see what the rainbow scrappers are up to this week, hop over to SoScrappy.

That's a beautiful quilt. I always think that bright colours have a longer lifetime than fabrics "a la mode". I'm just digging up my orange scraps, too.

What a great mini quilt! Looks like you have plenty of ingredients ready for lots of great orange blocks this month.

Scrimshanker sounds quite derogatory lol I can imagine me saying that to some smart ass if he hacks me off!
that little mini is so beautiful, jewel like, well worth resurecting or donating to someone like me lol

LOL. LOVE the thesaurus fabric. I do have a bit of a katzenjammer this morning. A few glasses of water should fix this. Your little mini is just so beautiful and cheerful. I'll make some placemats like that to cheer up some elderly people. They'll love that I am sure. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy orange month! ;^)

love that colorful mini - now that you are getting into rainbows more you could use that pattern to make a larger quilt.

I love the intense saturation of color in your mini and I look forward to see what you make from your nest of orange scraps.

Love the thesaurus fabric. Now I know I'm not using the words properly but "I love the ragmatical efflorescence in you luminiferous rainbow mini." I think those were some of the words on the fabric.

Your colors are certainly ragmatical and give a whiskerando feel to the orange.

great block, I was busy this weekend and finished my blocks- well as much as I could, since I didn't have that much orange, now on to an embroidered purse pincushion that turid and I challenged each other to make each month (a pincushion with the rsc16 color)
