Design Wall Monday - Mid Month UFO Report

My UFO for the month of April (Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll) is on the design wall today.
Some progress has been made.  The sashing strips are cut, and the blocks are being sewn into rows. I haven't made as much progress as I had hoped to by mid month, but that's okay since I met some other quilting goals in April. I finished my FUN quilt, made some mug rugs, and I machine quilted a memory quilt for a friend.
Now it's time for some concentrated RRCB focus so I can get the blocks together and put the borders on next weekend in order to meet my goal of a finished quilt top by the end of the month.
Check out more design wall projects at Patchwork Times, and more UFO mid-month reports at A Lovely Year of Finishes.

  5. What pretty blocks. They remind me of the loom afgan I made when I was 15. I wanted a cedar chest and my mother said I had to make something to put in it before I got it. Such a pretty reminder on your wall.

  12. Your RRCB is wonderful. Is it scrappy or was it one fabric? And, your spring header quilt is lovely. Was that one of Marge's Mystery for Relay? I never thought of using my collection of 30's fabrics for that pattern but it's obvious from looking at yours it would work very well. Perhaps I will use my 30's fabric this way. Thanks for the inspiration.

  13. I didn't make this one, I was scared off by the string blocks. The pink and green are a great contrast. I only made Easy Street because she promised "no String blocks". Those 1 1/2" strips for the 4-patches were tiny though. Nice change for the Season on your header. After this quilt is gone from your house you still have a reminder. I need a clothes line, but it has been rainy so Hanging a quilt out to take a picture on a clothesline wouldn't have worked anyway.

  16. The colors of your RRCB are delicious. I, too, worked on various things this past weekend. Kind of clearing the deck for more work on my BOM.
