Slow Sunday Sitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!

Whatever the season is that you are currently in, or whatever the weather is that you are experiencing, it is the perfect day for stitching!

Last week when I was visiting my grandbaby, I had some time to stitch and of course I had brought along my project bag (just in case).

But it was missing one thing - a needle. I couldn't believe it! This is a  selection of needles for hand stitching that I can see from my stitching chair at home. SOOooo many needles and yet I didn't have one in my bag.

So I went to the nearest Michaels (wasting a half hour of my stitching window) and bought the smallest needle they had for hand stitching. It was a package of Gold Needles size 1-3-5 whatever that means.  I usually use a size 26 or 28. Ugh! It was like stitching with a stick. But I still managed to get some stitches in and learned a valuable lesson - always be sure you have your favourite needles and scissors in your hand stitching bag!

Here is my progress on Kind Words (by Modern Folk Embroidery) stitched on 14 count hand dyed aida using  "Crumpets" floss both by Roxy Floss. In spite of the bad needle, I am happy that you can't tell the stitches that were made with it. And as soon as I got home, I threw those Michaels needles in the garbage and put some nice needles in the project bag!

What are you hand stitching today? Please share you slow progress with us below!
