Welcome to the weekly linkup that celebrates the art of hand stitching! We are all about pure relaxation, and taking one s l o w stitch at a time.
I have been obsessed with finishing my cross stitched Alphabet Hearts Sampler by JBW Designs. It is stitched on 32 count Parisian Linen using 3 strands (for better coverage) over 2 threads using the called for green and pink threads.
I love how it turned out and am thinking about how to finish it. I'm wondering about making it into a long pillow? What would you do?
I also finished my Winter Mystery embroidery wallhanging from
Days Filled With Joy. It has minimal hand quilting along the blue stitched lines. For some unknown reason the top left corner of the binding went wonky. Oh well, I'm not redoing it since I'm already onto several other new projects! LOL
Finished Size: 7.75" square
What are you have stitching today? Link up your photo, instagram or blog post below and share your progress with us.

Your Alphabet Heart Sampler is so sweet!
And still it snows there! Surely, the snow will disappear soon??!! How sweet Max is. Your Alphabet Hearts Sampler is gorgeous. The Parisian Linen is a beautiful choice for your lovely cross stitch. I love the thought of finishing this lovely piece into a long pillow. The Winter pretty is a lovely finish. Oh, I think a little wonkiness somewhere is always a good thing.
Oh My this is a lot of snow!!!
Winter mini quilt is lovely, Kathy, and a long pillow made with the ABC Sampler sounds like a great idea to me.
Hope spring comes soon for you, the weather is crazy everywhere...
poor of us.
Max enjoyed his visit with you! Finn didn’t like to wear his coat or winter booties. His feet are happier with the boots protecting them from the salt. Cute little winter embroidery…time for a spring project now. The alphabet will make a great pillow. Happy stitching.
Wow that is a lot of snow! Your alphabet sampler is so pretty. It would make a nice long cushion.
Both of your stitcheries are darling, Kathy! I stitched a cross-stitch sampler earlier this year and haven't quite figured out how to finish it either. Hope you'll share what you do with yours!
wow great progress on the alphabet sampler
To date, the month of March has been worse than February which will make Spring all the more sweeter. If you have a suitable location, the alphabet sampler would look nice framed. Perhaps as part of a grouping. A pillow would be nice as well possibly with a border/sashing of coordinating quilting fabric.
That's a good question! It is kind of an awkward shape. It is ever so pretty so I hope you come up with a good idea as to how to use it!
Your cross stitch alphabet is wonderful. I am so ready to say goodbye to winter, and we are getting snow squalls today!
Beautiful finishes. I think I would make the cross stitch alphabet into a long pillow. Happy stitching!
I think Max enjoys his visits with you! Love the idea of a long pillow with that pretty stitchery. I finally got a few hand quilting stitches in today and it felt so good!
I have never seen so much snow! Wow! Yes, It would be a beautiful long pillow! Wonky happens...it's almost like your wall hanging is waving, "Hello!"
For a change we only got a dusting of snow!! I love the alphabet...and yes I was thinking a long pillow even before I read what you wrote! No blog posting for me...too busy with curling and watching nascar racing today. I will catch up but it is almost sapping season just waiting for it to warm up!
I can see the Alphabet Sampler frames with borders of green toile (or similar) fabric and made into a pillow. I love how it turned out!
And the little winter piece is cute, too.
Hi Kathy, I'm glad that the Canadian dog is enjoying the snow...someone has to lol Those are lovely projects. I haven't done any slow stitching since I'm back from holidays but I'm sure that I'll get to it eventually. Have a great week!
Your Alphabet Heart Sampler is looking amazing and I just adore how you finished the Winter Sampler. Beautiful job. Have a very lovely week.
That is a whole lot of snow!.....and a cute pup. I might make that pretty alphabet into a long pillow, but I think I would add wider fabric borders to the top and bottom than to the sides. Maybe now borders on the sides at all. Just so it is not too thin. Then again, I don't know the actual size of it, but it is very pretty.
