Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party where you can visit with members of the Slow Sunday Stitching crew around the world, right from the comfort of your own home!

Tis the season for colds and nasty viruses, and our hospitals are overflowing with really sick folks this year. I have spent the entire week in bed fighting a nasty influenza virus and trying not to go crazy/crazier. You know it's bad when I don't have the energy to do any stitching!

But before I got sick, I got out my oldest UFO and put in a few more quilting stitches. I was able to use this wonderful needle minder that Gail (who blogs at the Cozy Quilter) sent to me.

"Slow Down. Get Cozy. Get Crafty."

I love it!

It has a really strong magnet which you need for a thick quilt like this one. I like to thread a few needles and put them on the needle minder and quilt away - no need to stop to rethread!

I also removed 4 bars of quilting where I had accidentally used the wrong thread colour back in June. I had put the quilt away for the summer and when I brought it out again this fall I realized I still couldn't live with those 4 beige lines - now they have been replaced with maroon thread. Much better.

I hope to be stitching along with you today, if only for a short period of time. Link up your photo, instagram or blog post below and share the project you are putting stitches into today.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Oh dear Kathy, I do hope you are feeling better soon. Not feeling well enough to stitch must be awful, you have my sympathy.

I’m sorry to hear you have been sick. No fun!!! We had our flu shots this past week and are hoping to avoid the flu this year. I’m glad you like the needle minder. I thought it was appropriate for the leader of the slow Sunday stitchers! Feel better soon.

I am sorry you are feeling a little worse for wear, Kathy. I hope you are up and stitching up a storm very soon. The little needle minder is a great idea. Yes, I think the maroon quilting thread is a better idea, too.

I hope I do not get the flu this year I already had a short stomach virus last month - get well soon, sometimes it takes a couple days to really get over it - you will feel like stitching soon.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather and hope you are feeling better soon. I rank the flu by stages as (least to worst) 'unexpected day off, too sick to craft, too sick to read, time to call the doc' LOL

Love your quilt.

I’m so sorry you’re sick! I hope you’ve turned the corner. Great idea about having several threaded needles at the ready. That red paisley fabric is gorgeous.

I'll add my get well wishes to all of the others. I've already gotten my flu shot and will get the next Covid booster on Tuesday. Looks like it will be another winter of staying away from people and crowds which I realize not everyone can do.
