Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party! Bring your own beverages and snacks, and enjoy perusing the link ups below!

This week I am focused on hand quilting since I'm teaching my first online class next Saturday for International Quilting Day. I have put together a trunk show of some of my hand quilted projects and am excited to share it with the students in the class. I'm going to try to download a video to whet your appetite for hand quilting... let's see how this goes...

I'm hoping to finish quilting this lap quilt to show the class and am using it in a little demo video.

You can join us if you like! It costs $20 for the day and includes classes, demonstrations, quilt shows, draws for prizes, and sewing breakout rooms if you feel like sewing the day away with friends around the world. Click here for more information.

In this project I used a wool batt, and a flannel for the backing and I am loving the texture of this combination and will definitely use it again!

What are you hand stitching today? We hope you will link up your blog or instagram post below and share your project with us.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Those gloves are a great idea. Such a good idea, especially if it means one can quilt for longer without discomfit. Your online trunk quilt show sounds marvelous. Enjoy next Saturday!

Wool batting and a flannel backing do quilt very nice. Hope your class is a success, happy stitching!

Best wishes on your class! I watched the demo video and it is great! IF only I didn’t have a Saturday commitment and sew many unfinished projects. Your voice is excellent!

I'm sure your class will be a great success if the little snippet you gave us is anything to go by! It's great to put a voice to your blog photo too!

I've heard that many hand quilters like wool batting, but haven't tried it yet. Good luck with your class next Saturday. The video looked great!

Hi Kathy,
Love the quilt...so colorful. Good luck with
your class. Great idea for keeping thread on
the spool...I'll have to find some of those.
Have a great day!

Teaching an online class...good for you!! Sadly I have not been stitching as yet. A little bit of knitting is getting done...but haven't gotten back to the sewing room as yet.

I also use that hand quilting thread you show in your video (I can only find it at Joann's). Have fun teaching your class next weekend. You'll do great!
