Two of the six quilts that I will make as part of Quiltmaker's 2015 Scrap Squad are already finished. That means there are four still to come.
It is my goal to clean out different areas of my stash to make these quilts. The first quilt was made from some bright scraps, the second one was from the blue scrap pile, and the next one is going to be made from my collection of Kansas Troubles fabric. I have all the bits and pieces spread around on the table and am figuring out the amounts I have of each colour and what might work for this next quilt.
The first project I made using these Kansas fabrics was a quilt along with Judy of Patchwork Times in 2013. The pattern was called Sunny Side and I really liked how it was looking. Can you guess when it started heading straight to the UFO closet? That's right - "border time"... there's 5 of them. UGH. One of these days I'm going to have to tackle that.
But until then, I'm going to start a new quilt!
Today I'm finishing 100 gold and green 4 patch blocks. When they are done, I will start some flying geese blocks and some HST's.
TGIF!

Looking forward to seeing your next Scrap Squad project.
I love these colors :)
I love these colors :)
Those borders don't look too bad Kathy. I had visions of masses of pieces in some complex border!
Looking forward to what you will make for this Scrap Squad quilt. You've chosen lovely colours.
Love the KT fabrics. You are making me want to pull out my quilt square along blocks made of those fabrics. Have fun with your sewing today - can't wait to see the finished quilt. Don't forget to leave some fabrics for the borders of the UFO!
I love KT fabrics, so I know already that I'm going to love this quilt! I can't wait to see it come together.
Wonderful projects....HAVE Fun!!
I took a look at your Sunnyside quilt...your five border comment piqued my interest. That quilt is gorgeous & your don't need 5 borders! It would look awesome with just one, or maybe two. That being said, nothing wrong with starting another!!
Love your scraps! I know how Judy L loves Borders! Make the Block parts as your Leader/Enders for the Scrap Squad quilts. I started something new this week. The Greens were calling me.
Love all the lines of KT...and how they all seem to go together! Good luck and have no fear, you will get to those UFO someday!!!Maybe when you come north!
Your Northern Blog Stalker!!
The lady who owns/runs Kansas Troubles, Lynn Hagmeier, was at my large guild last night. Have fun with your scraps.
Quilts made in KT fabrics are so warm and cozy looking.
I would expect you to do your own thing on the borders. You are such a maverick, after all. : )
